My parents bought a 2025 1500 Hurricane with 9 miles on the dash. it was running great at first but after only 3500 miles they're already having problems specifically with a transmission module. it drove fine until they got home one night then the dash lit up and the truck wouldn't shift or turn on, they had it towed to a dealership after getting the module replaced on their way home last night the truck died again at a redlight, i assume the same issue, its back at the dealership just waiting to hear back. is anyone else having similar issues with the Hurricane?

from what i can find online a lot of people are having similar issues. a buddy told me if it goes back for the same issue 3 times they can file the lemon law or something along those lines. i figured it might be a good idea to see about a trade in when Ram releases the Hemi again or look into getting a 2500

Depends on the state, requirements vary, but at some point in either attempts or total time will trigger it.

Lots of reported electrical issues in the 2025s. New batteries, new harnesses, new modules, but still returning to the shop with no resolution.

Good luck.

Teething issues with any new model, but as we say in one hobby of mine (Computers/Overclocking) you really don't want to be the BETA tester of anything.
Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good or at least without it's fairshare of problems to be worked out over time.
Let others do all that so you don't have to deal with these issues yourself AND you know the potential pitfalls of getting one if you do.

Since it's not confined to just Hurricanes, that unfortunately doesn't say much that's good about this year's run of what they make right now.
They'll figure it out and (Maybe) do something about it, but until then.... :hmm:

I figure it this way. The last few years of the Hemi had issues, the first few years of the Hurricane may or may not have issues. I have said it before, and will say it again "Anything made by man will fail some sooner some later, but they will fail".

I bought this engine because I had a 3.6 in a 2014 Jeep that I wouldn't trust to go across the street. I read about all the issues with the Hemi's and cylinder shutdown, and want no part of an engine that starts out an 8 cylinder and ends up a? That is why I won't own a Ford 5.0 anymore. I have had good luck with the newer style turbos, so I figured I would give this a shot. If it doesn't work out, well there is another vehicle on the lot that will be coming home with me.

From what I am reading, it is more electrical issues then engine related issues. Which means no matter what engine is in it, they will have the same issues.

My unsolicited 2 bits

I have a new 1500 2025 Tugsten, one of the first. The first 5000 miles were spent fixing numerous issues associated with safty featuers and some machanical. It took significant time for the dealership to figure out exactly what the issues were and how to address. They were pretty much learning on my truck. We are now at 8000 miles and everything seems OK. This is the price you par for buying a new model but I must say, as long as everything works as designed, it is a greayt truck.

2025 Limited HO purchased New Year’s Eve ‘24, 5300 miles and no problems. The one thing is my fuel costs have exceeded my calculations since I like the ride and driving experience so much I’m putting more miles on it than expected!

You state the issue is the transmission module. What’s that got to do with the Hurricane engine? I don’t own a Hurricane engine and I’m not sure I ever will so I’m not here to defend it, but it’s like you’re blaming the dog for what the cat did.

I bought 2025 Laramire in Jan and had PCM power steering and battery failure with 700 miles. I returned the truck to the dealership and met with SR management and told them we wanted a new truck. I have had no issues what so ever on the engine except the carplay and AC just turn off and disconnect sometimes. This was my second Ram I purchased from them so they stepped up and Im very happy at 15k. Im sorry to hear you having so much trouble they really are good trucks. Stay on your dealership! Good luck!
