Not sure of when to rebuild my 5.7? Run it down? If so, am I compromising the blocks integrity to be reused?

Currently, she's running hard but mileage is 10 to 1.

Suggestiins, insights, opinions?

Parts for the new Hemi are expensive so unless you want to rebuild it for the sake of performance I would just keep on running it. When it starts to burn a lot of oil or if a head gasket fails then I would think about tearing into the motor. The block will be fine, they are typically rebored 20 thousandths over on a rebuild anyway. Welcome to the Forum.

I agree, the block is a beast. Drive it like you stole it!

I like fixing things before they break personally. I guess it all depends on how much disposable income you have. Though personally, if I was gonna pull it for a complete rebuild Id have to go ahead and build it up to have some real power as well.

If you are looking to build a high performance engine then rebuild it, otherwise if it will stay relatively stock, drive it until it lets you know it is failing, then rebuild it. A well maintained engine can get around 300K before needing a rebuild, providing you don't have a premature failure.
