Measure twice and cut once..... or just assume it will fit as I do :(
its not life or death just a little trimming of the plastic below so the mag will fit in the factory hole, but sadly that will have to wait till I have more time.

Well who knew it would be 4 months before I finished installing these. Life just gets in the way sometimes. Just required a little triming but nothing too bad. Anyway they are finally in and I must say it sounds absolutely amazing. And with a few clicks of the time alignment the vocals are sitting right in the center of my dash. If you are thinking about doing a 3 way settup I suggest you DO IT!!!

Well guys. It's cold and full of snow out here so I decided to revamp my system. First off I picked up a pair of the new infinity dome mids. So since they are smaller than what I have now I figured it is a good time to make the grills more like I envisioned to begin with.20190208_091354.jpg 20190208_175309.jpg 20190209_090450.jpg

Well the left side is done and looks pretty good. Now I'll try to get the right side done this weekend. Hopefully

Let me know how those infinity sound. I was eyeballing them for a 3 way build. I know they have a crossover built in but how do you have your amp or amps wired to them, tweets and mids?

The one I have in sounds wonderful the vocals seem much more crisp but will really know once I get the other installed. I already had the 3way crossover installed so I just switched out drivers. My entire system will be changing in the next few months. But dont even hesitate on getting them. They fit beautifully in the factory location if that's what you want to do.

Try infinity kappa perfect 3.5" midrange's. I have them in my dash active with 100rms running to each. They fit like a glove.

Are those from the Zed era? Always wanted to try their tube amps.

I was always partial to my ESXs. The Q120.4s were so far ahead of their time.

Looking at your dash plates makes me want to try it with some Dynaudio Esotec dome mids.

The dynos are going to barely fit but I'm sure you can pull it off But if I had to buy some I would go with the infinities. same frequency response as the dynos I believe but fit so much better.

I’ve already got Esotar 430s stuffed in the dash so the odds of me changing are very small. If I was choosing between the Dynaudio and Infinity domes, I would choose the Dyns every time and then do whatever needed to make them fit.
