Anyone seen this yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juqbi7ITVjM

Over the past year of full-time travel and off-road mini excursions we're thinking we might upgrade next year. Just saw the unveiling, and while I usually buy late model used, I could see myself buying a new 2017 Power Wagon.

Just wonder if the numbers will improve. The current Power Wagon has similar payload to the 1500 which is kind of a drag.

I doubt the payload will change.... The spring are softer to give you the flex offloading.

First thing I would do is trade out the grille for a regular black grille found on the black package and take off the RAM lettering in the back.

They are offering a whole new customizable 4x4 off road package on all the other 2500's for 2017 too.

Yeah I read that, but besides the shocks and hill descent control, my truck already has all the things that comes with the off road package like skid plate protection, a limited slip diff, and off road tires(Nitto Trail Grapplers). I don't think I would use the hill descent control and aftermarket shocks like the Bilsteins can be had for a few hundred bucks. It would have been nice if they would have put a font limited slip diff on the off road package. I am currently thinking about doing that.

Never thought I'd say it but the rebel front end looks WAY better on the 2500. I actually like the look sans the power wagon stickers on the front of the bed.

Payload is my hold back aswell but I'd look past that in a heartbeat if they'd just slap the 8 speed in there!

^Agree with that. My truck came with the limited slip. I changed my stock OEM shocks out with Bilstein 5100's. Installed the skid plate myself. I think it was around $100. Guess I don't have the hill decent but, no biggie, less electronics the better. Don't think I'll be going out and buying the 4X4 stickers...:Big Laugh:

The part that caught my eye was this: "A black headliner and matching upper pillars arrive for 2017...".

About friggin' time!!! I HATE the tanish headliner and pillar covers in my '14. At the very least I'll be able to replace my pillar covers when parts hit the catalog. Looking at the pics they released they look like the same design.

Still think the new grill and RAM tailgate lettering should be left for dead, along with the side graphics. But maybe I'm just old:)

The new Power wagon looks amazing! I grew up watching Simon and Simon, the homage to that era of Power wagon is fantastic to an old guy like me! :)

I think they are hoping that people will stop calling them Dodges.

Losing battle. Be like GM deciding that the Silverado was going to be it's own brand now.

I too like the Rebel Front end but I am old school & think the Power Wagon decal should be left on the hood like it has been since it's birth. Just my opinion.

Hell, I remember when the Silverado/Sierra were just trim levels in the Chevy and GMC C/K trucks. I think it was 1999 when GM changed the name to Silverado/Sierra.
