Folks,

I'm doing a cam/lifter/spring/header upgrade to my 2018 regular cab Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.7 hemi. I'm trying to set the timing, and I guess the cam sprocket/phaser assembly is different than ever other example I've seen. On the face of the cam sprocket there are no timing marks, but there is what I think a timing mark on the back of the sprocket. Does anyone have experience doing this on a 2018 and ran into this problem? Help!

Read through Kurtis's excellent How-to.

Thanks! Trust me, i've read through that guide and how to more than the first ******* I found when I was 13, the sprocket/phaser assembly shows a timing mark on the front of the assembly that doesn't exist on mine, it DOES show a mark on the back, hoping it's actually a timing mark and I can just transfer it to the front, but want to make sure.

Sprocket labeling error, I hope you kept track of their position before disassembly. Personally would use the peak of the first lobes from each cam as a match to the original orientation. Mark 12 o’clock before pulling out. (“that’s what she said”)

Thanks for that, I've seen it mentioned in some other procedures that the small hole on the front is also a timing guide, this pic seems to show that too.
