I'm confused here. I just purchased a new 2026 Ram 1500 Big Horn 5.7 Hemi and all of the docs provided with the vehicle, including the Window Sticker only indicate the 5YR/60K powertrain warranty. I had heard about the 10YR/100K warranty, but the guy that sold me the truck didn't know anything about that warranty. It's posted all over the internet with a recommendation that you keep a copy of the 10YR warranty info in the vehicle. What is up with this??? You would think that the dealers would be advised about this kind of change, I know they want to sell you that "extended" warranty and it you get 10yrs on the drivetrain who would buy that?? Does anyone here have a clarification on this warranty issue????

The simplest answer is *you* got the 10 year warranty, not the truck. The "real" warranty is transferrable if you sell it next week to someone else. The 10 year warranty is not, it's only for you, the original owner.

As far as why the dealership doesn't know, they are likely some mixture of incompetence and apathy in a human shell.

Beyond the "regular" warranty, the factory will ALWAYS try to screw you out any benefits from an extended warranty.

I would have figured all that out from the sales man before I ever signed any paper work. I delt one time with a fellow that did not know anything about the car I was looking at. so I left. A week later I see him working at Wall-Mart auto counter.
Thou the last couple dealer I dealt with are very good, and local fellows I know.

You'll find a lot of car salesman don't know anything about cars. They may or may not know anything about sales. The barrier to entry is very low since the commission pay structure makes new hires very low risk to the dealership.

If it’s a 2026 you will have the 10/100 even if the window sticker says 5/60. I bought a new 2026 2500 a few weeks ago and my sticker had the 5/60. I asked the dealer about that and they said it should be the 10/100 but didn’t know for sure. But now when I check online under my account with the new 2500 click the warranty info and it shows the 10/100. It’s just because the truck was made before the promotion started but it’s a 2026 so it’s covered.

It's because the warranty on the sticker is transferrable but the extended portion of the warranty is given to *you only* and is not transferrable. Same as the old lifetime warranties (the one from the late 2000s that you had to get the truck inspected every so often to keep in effect), the window sticker still reflected the transferable part.

Someone who already has adopted the view that the Hurricane is a POS, told me that the 10/100 warranty was on the Hurricane because they weren't selling and a very unreliable motor.

Thanks...appreciate the update. I didn't buy the 1500 Hemi for the 10Yr warranty, the window sticker only showed the 5/60 warranty. Somebody mentioned Ford & GM following suit. I doubt it. I traded a 2020 F150 SuperCrew 5.0 V8 and at 35K they were in the engine to repair the dreaded CAM PHASER tech bulletin...it was in 4 different times with "clunk" noises at startup. Finally, it sounded like a diesel at startup, so they had to do something. Ran great for another 17K then the "clunk" started up again. So, decided to get rid of it, GM is just as bad so I thought I would throw the dice on the new 1500 hemi...I'm not to sure about that e-Torque business though. I never run with the auto start/stop feature on any of my cars...so we'll see if it lasts 5 or 6 years - and if the e-Torque "goes" if they'll repair it

I don't have any experience with the E, I think the problem can be getting parts, not that they will not fix it.
That is the issue with all the companies, no parts on the shelf.
At one time 90% of my "new" replacement parts where pulled out of wrecking yards, or my parts cars, trucks behind the barn.
But that don't work for new stuff.

I wouldn't count on any warranty. Stelantis is by far the worst company that I have dealt with for any warranty issues. They make it so difficult to get anything fixed that it's easier to fix it yourself. They don't pay the dealers/Techs a decent wage for warranty work, so the dealer ends up putting the "low end" Tech on the job and you will have to do all the research/diagnosis for them if you want your truck fixed...Just from my experience.

My Son’s ‘24 Silverado is at the dealership now for 3 months waiting for a transmission repair…. and has just learned that they plan to replace the entire unit rather than the failed-part…. because the part is still on “backorder”…while whole transmissions are plentiful.
Why it took them 3 months to make that decision is less a mystery …now that he finally demanded a rental after 2-1/2 months…. GM must have finally figured out the rental takes the repair to a higher internal cost for GM…. justifying the entire tranny in comparison of the small internal part.

That’s apparently the way mfr’r logic works these days.
The neighbor had similar experience with his F150.

Stellantis may be bad…. but GM and Ford is apparently no better.

Well, only one of the three is being sued by several of their suppliers. They all suck these days, though, just perhaps not equally hard.

Good luck getting anything fixed under warranty. I have never dealt with worse warranty/customer service in my life! Between the dealer (Fury Motors, Stillwater, MN) and Stelantis they will wear you down until you give up.

I think that pretty much is what's happening when truck folks get feed up with their brand, some Ford guys go to Chevy, some Chevy guys go to Ram, some Ram guys go Ford, etc...market share stays the same.

My son finally got his truck back from the dealership just-prior to Xmas. The W.O. stated they’d changed a valve and a filter, and cleaned it out. It still “shudders” and lurches.
He gave it back to them along with an attorney letter demanding a completely refurbished trans. (which comes with a factory 100K warranty.)

That was 2 weeks ago and they still have the truck.
