2004 1500 Hemi, factory air. The condenser fan quit working. I have put a new fan relay in and verified the 30 amp fuse is good. A/C works fine when truck is moving, won't cool when idling. What next? Any help appreciated....it's still hot down here in Tejas.

Is the fan working now? From there i would look at the condensor and make sure its not blocked or dirty. Then if its still not working get some Ac pro and see if its needs to be charged. I recommend the AC Pro brand as it is easy to use and has a reusable gauge.

No, it's not coming on at any time.

Thats what it is then, if you've replaced the relay and fuse, the fan motor is bad. You can snag one at Advance for maybe $80 or so...maybe a little bit more. It's not a hard repair at all. It will come as an assembly.

The fan should run as soon as the AC is switched on...the compressor however, will not cycle if the pressures are too low.

Even in cold temps? What about in defrost?

Op can you hear the compressor kicking in and out? But i would definaitly change the condsor fan motor especailly if you have 12vs and it doesnt run.

Yes, even in cold temps...pretty sure that it is not thermostatically controled, therfore, if the AC is on, the fan is on.

Not too sure about the defrost though.

The pressures are normal, the compressor cycles normally, the unit cools great on the highway but not at all idling, the relay and fuse are good. It looks like I need to replace the fan motor.

I went to check for 12V to the fan motor. The elecrical plug is underneath the rear of the fan motor....I can feel it but can't see it. I tried numerous times to unplug it but can't free it. Is there a trick to getting this plug off?
