Wasn't sure if the dropout worked for the dedicated line as well since I have never tried it. I know it works for everything else so it probably does?

.
Yup, it does. I would also imagine that those bulbs are switchbacks themselves? So when the headlights are on (DRL circuits not being used at all), it is a function of the bulb to drop the white parking light while the turn signal is used?

I know nothing about AlfaOBD (yet), is it possible to use the fog lights as DRLs? I’ve always used them as part of my headlights at night but I’m thinking they would be perfect as DRLs since there is no white/amber switching needed.

Yes. With alfaobd you can set fogs, highs, low's, turns and if you have factory projectors or want to add the dedicated drl feed you can set dedicated. Dedicated on factory equipped projectors truck's use the parking lights as drl's.

Did you set the park lamps (which would be the white on the switchback) as the DRL's? I tried that but there is only a setting for the turn signals as DRL's in AlfaOBD? Was hoping to run the park lamps (white light) as DRL's and the yellow for the blinkers.
Right now it's white parking lights and yeloow blinkers and DRLs?

.
Yes on my truck the park lamps are white while driving but I set the fogs as my drls so during the day it's both the fogs and parking lights white at the same time while driving

You sure about that? You've looked after the truck is in drive? Pretty sure the park lamps go out when you put the truck in drive and the DRL's will come on (unless you are driving at night). Assuming you have the lights on "auto" as well and not manually turning the park lights on every time you get in the truck?

But your headlights are on as well in that video? Which would make sense why the park lights are on.

I'll try swapping to fogs for DRL's to double check but I'm 99% sure my park lights will not come on unless the headlights are on in that scenario.

.

Just to follow up. I tried changing my DRL's to fog, dedicated and low beams and none of those options also had the park light on.

Remember that when testing drl's you have to be in drive or reverse, maybe neutral and can't have the parking brake engaged

Yep, tested it with the truck in drive. The DRL's work fine as they should, just can't get the park lights to come on like Cheechdaogs says his do?

I'm probably just going to jumper the park lights with the dedicated DRL line and operate the switchback bulbs that way.

Maybe try different brand switch backs?

They are working as designed, they come on when a signal/voltage is present. Your headlights are on for some reason that's why your parks are on. (At least in the video they are). If I turn my lights on they work just like yours are.

I do appreciate the help

Ok, I think we are on 2 different pages. When you answered my earlier question it sounded like you were saying "yes" the parks are on with DRL's, but what you really mean is they are just white when they are on which is what mine do as well (with headlights on). I was asking about them as stand alone DRL's.

Appreciate it.

So I got a little lost on the convos here. So If you are trying to program drl's you can only have 1 location and the headlight switch needs to be on auto or off. They'll come on automatically when in drive, reverse and possibly neutral.

If you are having problems with using the "turns" as drl's with your switchbacks I've seen a few people having issues with having the switchbacks show white. I had no problems with lasfit switchbacks and having drl's set to turn.

If you are having issues with the drl location taking with alfaobd you may have to try a couple of times and verify through the bcm log.

The whole thing is just a misunderstanding. I was asking about parks (with the white switchbacks) as DRL's. What threw me off was he answered, Yes my parks are on white during the day with the DRL's set to fogs. The reality is his DRL's are Just the fogs and he has his headlights on during the day which gives him the white parks as well.

Mine do the exact same thing if I turn my lights on. It's just a mis-communication in the converstaion.

I can set my DRL's to the turn signals and they work just fine (yellow) but wanted the parks (white) which is not a option in Alfa.

Wrong... my parks still turn white with my fogs set as the drls ....this is actually very strange now because I can not duplicate it on my buddies 2017....
