[emoji106] cool, hope this one works alot better for you.

One would hope the chances of getting 2 bum RAMs in a row is at least smaller than 1 bum RAM and then starting all over again with a different brand :) Safety in numbers, I guess!

Basically he had a bad exhaust leak that they couldn't fix. I'm thinking it could have been fixed easily had an actual mechanic been diagnosing and repairing Vs some pencil pusher from FCA.

That is correct

I thought I started to have this issue, I remember reading on another Ram forum to try Motorcraft semi synthetic blend 5-20, I have had no engine noise at start up or at idle while using it. Maybe I just got an engine that doesn't have the issue, who knows.

^^^. In my 2018 6.4 7000 miles. First OC to Amsoil SS 0-40 MS 12663. Start up valve train noise each morning. Base formula was to thin. At 3000 miles OC to PUP 0-40. Start up was quieter and valve train noise was only 2-3 seconds. At 4000 miles added 10 oz of Lubeguard. First start noise is gone.

Why only 10 oz?
Lubeguard specifies "3 oz. of LUBEGARD to every quart of engine oil with oil change"

Not a additive fan when using a Teir 1 oil. Did not want to change or effect the oil formula,,,to much. Just caution.
Ok. Thanks for the feedback!

I share the same view but on the other side I just don't how much is "not enough"vs. how much is "not enough".
I suppose trials and errors.

One other thought. Because I only had 7000 miles on that engine,,,I held back on the additive. But if I had 20k+ I would have used a full dose.

Well the LubeGuard arrived today via Amazon, unfortunately the bottle leaked out all over the box (and what a mess ) - anyway I have a replacement bottle coming hopefully it was an anomaly.

I also checked my oil I am at the top end of the crosshatch's on the dip stick - last oil change was only about a month ago - so will either have to carefully drain a bit at the pan, or suction out a bit via the tube - haven't decided which way I'm going to go. I wouldn't mind putting a RP filter on, but don't know of any way to do it without oil gushing out when I remove the filter...

There shouldn't be any oil in the lines, a lot of guys take a qrt size or gallon size bag and put it around the filter after you loosen it. I used to do it and it works great, then I stopped given a **** and let the oil spill and wipe it off with a rag. Benefits of a gravel driveway and living out in the sticks.

I took an old redline bottle and cut it diagonally from top to bottom leaving the neck intact. Slide the trough that is created under the filter with the open end of the neck low and it will drain the oil into you're catch pan and you drop the filter right in the trough. No muss, no fuss, don't spill a drop.

So, this might a stupid question... so the filter will only drain out what is in and around the filter itself - ie not a constant stream like if you undid the drain plug? If so I will just do that and get an RP filter in at the same time... :waytogo:
