I use PUP 5w30 in the rav 4, it was a rattle trap on m1 5w20, then I tried redline 5w20 and it was smoother but not perfect, went to 5w30 PUP and a RP filter and that 4 banger is butter smooth. Seams like Ultra, Wix, and RP work all the same as far as filters in the rav 4. I actually bought a case of ultra that will be the filter we use for the next 100k miles, I got a case dirt cheap ebay. 32 bucks for 6 ultra shipped free, they seam to be out now, but keep looking. Just saying try 5w30 in a good oil, that thing will stop rattling.

Buddy of mine runs a local transmission shop, when i bought it i dropped it off to him to change all the fluids. Not sure what brand they used on it, just say synthetic trans fluid. I did use m1 5w20, extended performance and a toyota filter, my kids dont do a whole lot of miles so i do the oil with inspection each year. Ill try pup 5 30 next change and found the ultra filters pretty cheap on Amazon. Thanks for heads up. Hopefully itll help with the consumption issues.

They do in a round about way, they show the results. And you know these results are real, because the formula is very similar to redline, and like redline it excels in pin and vee block testing. I think the average consumer benefits from seeing the results instead of just discusion additives?

Does that LubeGard have paraffins in it? The wax part is slightly worrisome. Is that what Redline uses?

It is a synthetic version of whale oil the best lubricant of our time. They don't say waxy ester on redline, not the same. But, there are many similarities in the forumla shown by the uoa's and both have esters.

Is that good or bad? I need the Burla blessing before I hit checkout.

Esters can double the operating temp that you can operate a machine at. Now, whether redline or biotech, the ester content is likely around 20% give ot take, so that wouldn't double the possible operating temp, but you can operate at higher temps with esters. Great for ticking conditions that have higher heat. We don't have the long real live testing like we do with redline, but on paper it looks good. Of course, with redline we have a bunch of guys with long term uoa's, cut open filters, and reports of quiet engines, so if someone is asking me what to run with a ticking condition, it is redline 5w30. I do feel this product is safe, and maybe worth a shot if you have tick, especially cold start tick. I even have a bottle in my garage, so I would use it. Give it time, don't judge it right away, sometimes this product will take time to deal with a tick.

Ok, thank you. I understand it takes some time to build up a film or coating. I had not driven the truck in several days and when I started it today it did not make the usual loud clatter so that is comforting. I would switch to Redline if it weren't for the warranty.

I been using biotech in all my cars for years, add about 1/2 qt to each oil change. Zero hemi tick, but I also have really good oil pressure, better than most I seen post. Cruising I get 60+ and flooring truck over 70psi. I been using mobile 1 EP for years with the added 1/2 qt biotech, last oil change I tried Penzoil ultra platinum with the biotech. Mainly the Biotech just adds additional moly and some protectant, is black so can read oil line better also when changing oil.
