AlfaOBD Support For 06~12 Rams

Hmm, that might come in handy if I ever get around to making a custom cai... I have an AEM now, but I want to move it forward and put a 2nd battery tray where the stock airbox location is.

I noticed I can use Alfa to turn the fan on and a few other things, but when I tried the heated seats the lights never turned on, same for the cruise. Any thoughts of how I could use Alfa to diagnose my cruise issue? Which was prety much my whole point to buy it

Unsure, when I try to look at settings under steering for your year it's blank but you can try connecting and see what you see...

I see steering and the control module one, I pick the '12 option and it will not connect to the module. '12s are fun they're a little different than 09-11 and yet different from 13+

'12 are special Alfa lets me try to connect and backup the body computer and apparently change settings.. and restore the backup... but I don't have a BCM ;P

Check the version of your software version as well. Maybe there is an update that needs to be applied? Still shouldn't be doing that though. The only way (of course that was 13+) of that doing that was on the demo version after the trial ran out.

It looks like AlfaOBD only works with Dodge Rams & newer Rams that have the Can Bus C system, 2009 was the first year of the Chrysler/ Dodge Electronics system,

Yes I did. I have a 12 1500 Laramie. the dealer turned mine on because it was before I got alfa but it should be listed in the body computer or braking system as ITBM or Integrated trailer braking module. If you search for that here you may get a bit farther.

hey guys got 2011 ram 1500.had a 2017.now i did tons of changes on my 17 i put sport oem led tails on my 17 an changed them
to led with alpha.now the 2011 not much to change i still had the oem sport tails put them in an work cause i hve adapater harnes.but it hyper flashes.only thing i can find is say r/t led tails there two put still dont work to fix hyper flash.been four years since i used it.an i missing something.thanks dave

Just use a resistor, Thats what I ended up doing on mine.

cant really there factory sport tails.just had my buddy put a remote truck starter on so he said them tales being break an turn on the same wire the resistor will prob get to hot an burn up.i was like ffs not cool.so might take my after market led tails an look at how there wired up does that make sense lol

So you've tried one or the other of the LED settings in the CGM for the 2011?

So is the MX+ not recommended for the 09-12 models? I have a 12 and just ordered an MX. Having a hard time getting into the BCM with a Samsung Galaxy tab.

MX+ Works perfectly in my 2010, I've never had an issue with it.

Welp thanks to the info here, I managed to get the remote start working on my 2012. Thank you
But I can't seem to get global windows down to work with the key fob. Tried the different suggestions here but nothing seems to work. Has anyone successfully done it on a 2012? If so do you remember the steps?

I’m looking to use alphaobd to recalibrate my speedometer on my 2012, has anyone done this with an 09-12 model? I’ve seen videos on it with the 13+ models having success but none on a 09-12

I recalibrated mine last week for new tires. I took 5280 / rotations per mile and converted feet to mm. I used that number to set with alfaobd for my 2010. Speedometer is dead on,.

I did. The factory installed LT265/70R17E. I now run LT295/70R18 (not the ones in my avatar photo). I don't recall the menu steps; it was several years ago.
