On a 2014 RAM 2500, how do I change the remote start heated seat threshold temperature to something higher than stock (40°)?

I also want to lower the vented seat threshold temp to lower than 80°.

PLEASE HELP- Having trouble with alphOBD, followed the step by step instructions listed for changing tire size and worked great at first, The first attempt however speedo was still slightly off. Went back in to correct this and now the truck is saying service trailer brake, 4wd temporarily unavailable, power steering isn’t working, and the speedometer isn’t working at all. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Check and clear any codes in the body Control, engine control and rf hub. Give your truck about 15 minutes to rest then try again

It's easier then you think. Just stick to the known good changes and you'll be good to go...

At this time the is no setting in the alfa tool to access or change these parameters.

Im not using the bypass from Info but just today on my 19 Classic i used the alfa along with the MX and security bypass listed in this thread to activate my newly installed aux buttons, trailer brake, upgraded gauge cluster and remote windows without a single prroblem. Go for it.
Are you saying that with the mx and alfa, I dont need a security bypass for a 2019 1500 classic?

Is the VTA the Vehicle Theft Alarm in the OBD ?? Is that the same listing at a Dealer ? I will ask them again and see what the tech says ! The last tech sid no such thing :O IMO he was just to lazy to check :O Watched a few you tube videos about the OBD from a guy on this forum, Big Daddys video. Was very interesting. And saw the page listing the VTA, SO I assume it is there if the tech know what he is doing ? Thanks

From what i understand the Pcm lock in i believe 15+ keeps you out of just that. The 18+ OBD security thing keeps you out of everything. Unless you get the bypass cable.

Thank you for your support sir!! You will find out talking to a tech, you will probably be teaching them more than they already know. Just by reading things in this form..... No joke brother!

Yea I agree some techs it is just a job, others it is a challenge to learn more to solve issues ! SO I assume the page's you pulled up on your Alpha OBD is the same as the dealer will pull up ? I was a HVAC Tech for 40+ years and always wanted to know the answers to a problem :) I wrote down your instructions ,so will see . The Service writer know me fairly well , as being informed when I take my truck in, I also flex the buy 7 cars from that dealership in the past 7 years helps lol Thank You for doing the videos, I am watching them all as time permits :)

The system they use will be different than how alphaobd shows thing's. A tech with any knowledge will be able to find his way around their system to find is needed. But they are also limited now essentially being "vin locked" to what is applicable to your truck and with 18+ being locked out even more with the security module.

Thank you for your reply ! I believe it did work when I got my used 2015 in 2016 ! Then just assumed it still worked, Several updates made at the dealership so maybe 1 of those erased the code ! I checked several months or more back and found it did not work, been bugging me now since I go out of state more now ! lol

The dealer can only see codes that are allowed by your trim level and installed options packages. Basically your BCM is locked to them for some codes. They connect to the truck the same way we do with the alpha tool. I have watched the tech add codes to my truck before we had the alpha tool. He was my neighbor so I was standing right next to him as he did it and watched the screen. My truck is an Express so most of the codes I wanted to enable were greyed out or missing all together because they weren't allowed in my trim level even though ALL the BCM's have all the codes for the options available in that model year. Chrysler doesn't want you to be able to add options. They would rather have you buy a more expensive truck so they don't make it easy to add certain codes. The Techs are mostly left in the dark on this for some reason and don't really understand how a lot if this stuff works. The alfa tool can see all the codes in the BCM. It can even see the codes for other Chrysler vehicles such as the third door latch signal for a minivan ect even though the BCM is in a Ram truck. There is no bypass harness needed to access the BCM for the 13 to 17 trucks, only the 18 and the 19 Classic. There is a chance the VTA is not visible to the tech when he connects to your truck because it's not allowed by FCA in your trucks particular configuration. You can easily enable the VTA (Vehicle Theft Alarm) with the alfa tool as many of us have done. It is detailed in the known working codes section in the first page of this thread.

I've often wondered why this is, my guess is manufacturing. So they only have to make one or a couple cookie cutter BCMs. Only difference being the software for the trim package?
