For those who have added memory mirrors (or at least know what they look like), is there any way to tell if a set of mirrors have memory function just by looking at the mirror and/or wiring?

Ive found a set with chrome caps on them, but the exact vehicle they came from isnt known. Hoping the wiring might be a good indication?

Thanks.

-Chris
It should be in the tilt in reverse code section but to recap if you look at the white mirror connector and it only has 4 wires it's NOT a memory mirror.

@Ricks Ram Thanks! Yeah, I remember reading to stay away from 13' clusters when I was looking for one. They also had TPMS issues I believe on newer models.

@Arth Did you install your premium EVIC or did it come with your truck.

My 2014 is a Limited and came with the premium cluster.

Also I did change both special packages and got nothing from it.

I am in agreement it only works on 2015 and up trucks.

Its definitely there, but what it does I have no idea.

Without an actual different t-case than what came with my truck, I didnt want to muck with that option.

Yes the case codes are in there but I don't know if anyone who has tried to change them. I'm assuming it should be possible because everything else seems to be able to be changed.

@6.7CumminsDrvr If you're probably going to be the first if you try it. If so, please let us know so we can confirm. If you run into issues or if it does not take, the developer is pretty quick to respond on fixes for the app.

Just a reminder, while nothing has caused true major issues and everything has been reversible, there is always a chance of something messing up.

I didn't see the 44-45 non auto
which is what my Express has and what everyone is wanting to switch too. It may not be showing up because I'm not actually plugged into my truck right now or possibly because its the transfer case I currently have.

The more i see the closer i am to giving this a go.......been holding off sourcing a BW 44-45 since the “factory” wasnt able to make these changes and the shifting back to 2wd wouldn’t work. Looks like i need to purchase some software, odb wifi plug, and a BW44-45!

If you have the 44-44, Id be interested to see if you could get your hands on the modification kit that was made a while back. It mechnically converted the 44-44 to really lock into 4WD instead of clutch. The issue they had was once it was put into 4Lo, they couldnt get it to go back into 2WD. The reason being the encoder motor wasnt turning back far enough.

I would be VERY curious if that t-case selection in the BCM has something to do with how the encoder motor works. It wouldnt surprise me if that was the missing link in making it all work.

That is my hope and dream! I reached out to RSG way back when the kit wasnt really “out there” and they were almost ready to be released. Unfortunately i did not get one before when they were axtually selling them. On the upside they
stated the 44-44 was actaully beefier so id prefer the conversion and update the BCM to make it work..........that was the plan!

When I leave later today I'll go out and get in the truck and plugin the to and see what . I will also check and see what transfer case it shows I currently have even though I know I have the 44-45 if somebody else doesn't do it sooner. Maybe something as simple as the 44-45 transfer case uses one of the other codes. There are a lot of us with the tool now. You may be able to find someone near you that can change the code for you.

On another topic for those of us who have activated the VTA in our trucks if you unlock it with the key instead of the fob the alarm is still armed. Not really a big deal but worth noting so you dont accidentally set it off like I did. I doubt the trucks equipped with the VTA from the factory act the same way. Might be a setting we are missing.

With my wife's Chrysler mini van, the VTA system it came with functioned this way. If unlocked with the key and the door is opened, the alarm goes off. Unless the truck is unlocked via the fob, any opening of the door sets of the alarm.

Come to think of it, my 05' GC Limited did the exact same thing. Anything but fob would set the alarm off.

Thanks, that's good to know. Maybe the trucks are the same way. I guess if you don't have your key fob and you need to unlock your truck you're screwed.

Have to try it on the truck but the GC would stop when I put the key in the run position. I know because my fob battery died on me. Lol

Are you still able to get the kit? I tried posting in that other forum but never heard back. I know its a decent expense just to try, but I bet they would work with you on cost if it turns out that BCM setting can actually make the whole thing work!

Both my previous FCA vehicles (a Jeep Liberty & a Dodge Dakota), both of which came with the VTA active from the factory, behaved that way. Unlocking with the key did not turn off the VTA.
