Did anyone ever try this fearure?.... if you did where did it locate it?

Even though the rest of the VTA system was not enabled, that one was already enabled on my truck.

CBC Configurable Inputs and Outputs:
VTA Warning LED Output Present: Set

The light itself is in lower right area of the EVIC (7"). I'll see if I can grab a picture of it next time I'm out to the truck. It's listed on the EVIC diagram in the owner's manual as well if you're just looking for where it is.

I have added all of these, but I am getting a rear parking light out when I hit my brakes and/or turn the turn signal on. Anyway to correct that?

Try
Rear Lighting DTC Disable: Set

If you're still getting the error I would try lpennock's suggestion. Just be aware that you will no longer receive warnings even if a bulb is really out.

The only issue with this is that you wont get any light out errors if any of the tail lights are out.

rmoyer72, do you have resistors on the tail lights? Which lights did you swap to?

I found that when you set lights as LED you need to remove the resistors. So if the lights have built in resistors you shouldn't have to swap to the LED setting.

I had the hood switch already for remote start.

VTA was enabled after I changed: VTA Hood Ajar Monitoring: Not set

Control-VTA Indicator Request: Yes
CBC Configurable Inputs and Outputs:
Hood Ajar Switch Input Present: Set
VTA Warning LED Output Present: Set
VTA Hood Ajar Monitoring: Set
VTA System Present: VTA
Connector A Pin 11: Hood Ajar Switch Usage: 1K parallel resistor

Get a red blinking LED below the speedometer. Locked with the keyfob and opened inside door handle, got the alarm.
The horn took me several tries to turn back off with the panic button.

Just curious, did you set yours to 1K or was it already set? Mine was set from factory before any modifications to:

Connector A Pin 11: Hood Ajar Switch Usage: 500 ohm series and 500 ohm parallel resistors

I haven’t looked at this on my Alfaobd yet, but I have the red light flashing on mine from the factory. I turned the truck off, locked the door with the remote while sitting in it, opened the door and no alarm went off.....is that a proper test?

I have a 2017 sport with push to start

I’m a little confused on what the VTA actually does also...besides add the blinking light as far as I can tell. Contrary to your situation, my bare bones tradesman has no mention of VTA on the vehicle’s equipment listing, but it has always sounded the panic horn if I locked the truck from the inside with the remote then opened the door... before AND after adding it with the alfa.
Does anybody know what the VTA ACTUALLY does, besides the blinking red light?

My truck is a 2018 Tradesman with the Express pkg bare bones too. With the VTA set on mine and the doors locked with the remote, the dash VTA red light blinks and when you open the locked door with the physical key in the handle the horn starts blowing like crazy. I would think it would blow the same way if someone entered by breaking the window or by jimming the door?

It was set to 1K already. I saw the 500+500 in working settings, but figured I'd leave it 1K, and VTA worked.

edit: Thought the switch must have already been configured correctly as the Remote Start wouldn't work with the hood open.

Hi, first just wanted to say thanks for everyone's hard work and time spent working thru out this thread.
Just FYI I went to my dealer today to get my 4 pin key code inquiry, I was told it was only good for 12 hours,
Not sure when I'll use it but time will tell.
Thought that was interesting based on a wide verity
Of info we have received.
Thanks again

Did it come on a printed piece of paper that said-
Key Code Inquiry Results:
VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Ignition: M1234 (example)
Pin: 1234 (example)
If so, that is your PIN and it doesn’t expire.

Nope, he just took my vin info and then wrote it on a piece of paper.
Nothing like some of you have received.
Having said that, I believe it is my pin but have no immediate plans yet to use it.

It should be a 4 digit numeric pin. If that is what you have it is most likely your pin# and should not change.

VTA Hood Ajar Monitoring: Set

I couldn’t even find a resistor setting or a few others listed.

I just changed that same hood ajar monitoring setting and now mine works. That’s all I changed.

I even got a notice from uconnect which is extra cool.

Thanks guys
