So I have these headlight and I’m getting lamp out message when the headlights are on because these are switch backs. So the white led goes out. Any idea how to correct with alfaobd? I have already changed settings for led turn signals and led park lamps but still get the message. See
YouTube link.

Did your truck originally come with projector headlights?

If no

Try the settings that I had r84boomer do originally. If you still get an error than change turn to no and parking to yes

These are my current settings. While I have a modified set of Gen 1, they seem to be pretty close to Gen 2 in operation.

I do not get a parking light out error. I do get a turn signal out error ONLY if the turn signals are on at the same time the headlights come on (i.e. if you have auto headlights on and it gets dark enough for them to come on automatically). Have not been able to fix that auto-on issue, but with headlights off, or if they are already on when you start signalling, I get no errors. Note that I have factory LED taillights as well, so ignore my rear and taillight settings if you do not.

Hi

Is there any procedure on how to turn on DRL on a RAM 1500 (2012)?

If possible, I would like to activate the Fog lights as DRLs.

I found all kind of descriptions for 2013+ trucks but not for 2012.

Any hint welcome.

Please forgive me if this has already been asked, I looked through everything and did not see this question.

I have diode Dynamics switch backs for my turn signals, I have turned on my DRL with ALFAOBDand told it to set the DRL to turn signals, however it comes on on a different voltage and does not activate the white side of the switch backs. Is there a way to make this work?

Problem- I want my DRL to be the white on my turn signal switch backs, but the DRL only activates the amber side of the bulb.

You can’t set DRLs as turn signals for switchbacks, because that’s what will end up being the DRLs....the amber turn signals. These are the settings you need:
DRL configuration >optional

DRL lamp location > dedicated

DRL dropout enabled > yes

CBC I/O right dedicated DRL lamp output present> yes (should be yes already)

CBC I/O left dedicated DRL lamp output present > yes (should be yes already)

LED dedicated DRL present> yes

ECUConfig 3 DRL customer setting enable> yes

CustSetMenu 1 daytime running lights CSM> yes

Well dang, ok that’s what I have set up now. Guess I’ll change it back to headlights and look at my options for LED’s ....just never been happy with LED’s for my headlights...but I like the look it gives the truck

Do you have the red wire from the DD drivers tapped into the truck’s dedicated DRL wire? That’s the only way it will work like this. Vrwv2YB.jpg

Ha nope, I have the poor man’s headlights....just the bulb installed. I would love to upgrade to the projector style headlights but can’t just yet on my truck....doing a few more things to the wife’s first.

Ahh, sorry. Every time I here DD switchbacks, I automatically think of their boards and forget about the bulbs. You can still make it happen with those settings, but you have to add the dedicated DRL wires and tap them into the parking light wires with diodes.

Is there any way to get the vehicle settings option to pop up on a 2014 7 in evic. I have the tesla screen by linkswell. I read you need to enable IPC ECU config 4 but no joy. Please advise.
