I have a 2017 Ram, swapped my cluster and uconnect for 2013 premium cluster and 2014 8.4 uconnect, I tried the alfaobd to change my boot screen, to no effect, I have the ram head logo on the cluster and the ram 1500 on the uconnect, anyone have any other way to change these screens?

I believe only in 2015+ clusters have the ability to change the boot screen. Also your tpms won't be able to read.

Try hitting the connect button on the mx. If that doesn't work delete and reinstall alphaobd

I figured it out. The OBDLink was connected to my phone as well and must of caused an interference. Even though it was connected to my tablet too, it wouldn’t connect to alfaobd. I removed the obdlink from my phone and all was well.

Yes. The SL number for mine is 0224, and coincides with the day it was built (February 24). One of my status checks was on 2/27, and it was at the body vendor. The L-4 (last 4) number is the last four of my vehicle order number.

SO??? The number under the SL on my window sticker is 0511 for my 2015, ecodiesel Laramie. How does that work??

My best guess would be it was built may 11 2015? What does the MDH (month/day/hour) number on the gray sticker on your driver door say? Mine is 022413- built feb 24 in the 13th hour. My SL number is 0224. Could just be a coincidence.

Ill check my MDH tomorrow but I do not think its a coincidence.

I found a half torn sheet that looks like was used by the assembly folks, it specified a bunch of interior parts, modules, etc and was printed on 09/26/16. My SL is 09/28, so Im guessing 09/28 would be a more accurate representation of the actual assembly date and/or the final assembly date.

Yeah I get that part....but what if they built a 2017 actually in 2017? How would they differentiate from one built in 2016?

I assume the quick answer would be "its not possible to build a 2017 in september of 2017, only in september of 2016" but they also do 0.5 year models as well....so 0728 could be a MY17 built in 2016 or an MY17.5 built in 2017, no?

Its really not a big deal, just something I was curious about.

The model change would then have a different VIN number beginning to match the change, The same as the classic compared to the gen 5. A midyear change even in the parts installed let alone a complete model has a variety of different numbers that change not the date code. This why someone like Benny knows the part you need because of the number you give him.

Anybody that has installed 55W HID lights into the low beams (projector) do you know if enabling VehConfig 3-High Intensity Discharge is all you need to do? From what I understand that disables PWM, but does the circuit supply enough amperage to drive the ballast or do you also have to get a relay kit?

Also, I saw a few days ago a post stating that testing has shown that setting LED->on for the headlights causes problems. Can someone elaborate on this? I have it set to Yes for now because I have LED lights and that setting prevents the errors saying the light is out. I have noticed no negative behavior.

If you are not getting any warning lights with your current LED settings then there is no need to worry. They were trying to get rid of a warning message that occurs under a particular set of conditions by setting the LED headlight options to "no"...

As SitKneelBend stated, for hid's you only need to enabled VehConfig 3 high intensity discharge lights. Enabling led's for low/high isn't needed. As stated having led low/high off seems to be resolve a turn and/or parking light out message with.

Having issues with one park sensor (rear Drivers side)
Anything with Alfa I can do to test and confirm what sensor it is?

Pull one from the driver's side and reinstall it on the passenger side. If you can move both with no change then the problem is with the wiring.
Use some dielectric grease to keep water out of the connections

Any update to this would really like this to work
For fun last night I tried looking for the auto fold feature in doors setup and it is there now, but selecting it has the same behavior as before - checking the box to enable auto fold jut results in the box unchecking itself. Sad.

Is anybody running Alfaobd on a '19? I am trying to setup my '19 4500 and it won't connect to the ECM. Keeps giving me faults and "yes I do have the by-pass cable".
