You could always add the dedicated DRL circuits to your truck if it originally came with Quads. I did on my '15 for my ModifyStreet headlights, even have the option in the 8.4 radio to turn them off completely. The Darla only come on when the truck is in gear and the parking brake is not set. If the plug under the fuse box has pins 8 & 23 populated from the BCM, then you just need to contact M² Mods for the extended pigtails for the DRL circuits then enable them using AlfaOBD.

Ok sweet, thanks for that, I might do that down the road. For now I just switched it to fuse f96 and it works out much better

I just got my alpha black luxxs installed and I love them. No error or light out codes either (2016). I ordered labor day weekend and had them that Friday. I might use a different fuse tap too because I was chilling in the parking lot listening to the radio and thinking man I wish I could turn my drls off lol. @XXSNOTRODXX when moving it to f96 did you still use the 10 amp fuses? The only issue I might have is a little condensation in the passenger side. I washed my truck and noticed it in the bottom right corner. Super hard to get a picture of but you can see it, it distorts the drls in that corner

yeah I’m still running the 10 amp fuse on the factory circuit side of the fuse tap. On the drl harness side of the fuse tap I’m running a 15 but a 10 would be fine also, 15’s just what I had on hand. No condensation issues for me with my pro g2’s

Okay , update for everyone having the issue with park light out errors. As mentioned, I’d been through every setting in alfaobd and tried every trick in the book. The only thing that worked was to put an additional bulb on the output of the parking light circuit to trick the truck into seeing the additional load.

I was in contact with tech the entire time and relaying the info back and forth and they wanted to make sure they could send me the correct load resistors to try and fix the issue and have me report back so they would know what to tell other customers having the same issue since it’s only a percentage of us out there that alfaobd doesn’t remedy the issue for.

I had issues with alpharex getting the package to me but I’m pleased to say that it finally arrived today.

I can confirm that replacing the factory resistors alpharex install in these headlights with the new load resistors did NOT fix the error. BUT, using these resistors in line with the existing ones DID seem to solve the park light error.

they sent me 2 resistors but I installed one of them on the passenger side and it seemed to be enough to fix the problem . So I technically don’t need to install one on the drivers side but since I have one I think I may install it for the hell of it.

these resisters are in a plastic housing and do not get as hot as the aluminum style resistors. They do still get warm though, not warm enough you have to worry about melting anything but I still chose to mount it to my frame just to help act as a heat sink.

So if anyone is having this issue, there is a fix!. Contacting alpharex by email is slow, I got quick responses from them when messaging them through Facebook and Instagram.

I’m including pictures of how I’ve got it installed and the part number of the resistor that they sent me for reference. Hope this helps.

Quick question before I buy... with all the questions and possible support needed, should I order directly through alpharexusa website ($415 or so) or the retrofit source ($329 I think). Only thing I thought would be maybe trs isn’t the g2? But it had the same sku number (880597). I’d like to get them from trs just because I can add the morimoto 2stroke leds at the same time but...??

I just finished installing a set of Alpha Black Luxx on my 2014. Installation went without a hitch and no error codes. The light looks and works fantastic.

Update,

Just got the resistor installed for the nova series headlights. Before resistors, I got the park light error. Installed the resistors and the park light out error is gone. It fixed the issue. Alpharex sent them out to me for free after reaching out to them about it.

You are saying AlphaRex is a bad company because you didn’t want to deal with dash errors, which are an issue with any light upgrade at all on any 4th Gen Ram. So instead of spending $10 on a set of plug n play resistors on Amazon, you sent the lights back and then reply to threads saying the lights are junk and to stay away from the company.

Makes no sense.

Btw, I got my Luxx series resealed with the smoked clear corners installed.

Here is a little sneak peak.

c64a1ec1e0f8d720c7dfc6fe1ad19fc9.jpg

They won’t be going on my truck for about a week or two as I have some filming to do, some head to head matchups versus other Ram retrofits, etc, for YouTube content. Once I install them I’ll post pics n videos.

Also, I’ll be posting a video of these going up against the same lights but with 4 Morimoto D2S projectors retrofitted into them, and against stock quads with Morimoto H1 8.0’s and also stock quads with halogens. So you guys can see the difference between each option.

I would order directly from AlphaRex. That way you have full support and you can go to them for any issues. Just order the 2 stroke bulbs from TRS on their own.

But let me ask you this, why would you pay $350-$450 for the G2 halogen projector lights from AR and then another, what, $150-$200 for the Morimoto 2 stroke bulbs when you can buy the Luxx version of the AlphaRex lights and they have built in led projectors that outperform the led projectors in the Morimoto XB Lights? In the end, you will be paying almost the same amount for the halogen projectors w/ 2 stroke bulbs as you would for the Luxx led projector version of the lights.

Please show me where I said they are junk ....

I sent them back because I didn't want to wait 4-6 weeks for them to send out resistors .... I waited enough when I ordered and my order was not processed til 3 days later ....

I ordered so that I could pick them up personally to make sure they were first of all not stolen from my front porch and second to see if they didn't have any errors ... I only live and hour away and they guaranteed next day will call pickup and I ended up waiting 6 days before I got them delivered and only 12 hours for them to receive them when I sent them back ....

Come on OnSale bro lol ... this thread is about non support which I personally believe that this company is pretty bad in .... don't guarantee something to a potential customer then fail to deliver .... if I waited for resistors to come in regardless from who I got them from it would of exceeded their 30 day return policy and they wouldn't take them back after that ....

I had a long discussion with them before and after I ordered them and back a few months ago as well ... they were rude and I decided not to deal with them back then but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt this time around which I shouldn't of ....

My buddy got the luxx series and he didn't have any errors and I mentioned how bad ass they are .... my problem is just with their customer service and processing of orders ...

But their pro series are not good enough for me but are not junk like you said I said lol ...

I ordered mine through Amazon and have had no problems with support. They sent me a free dust cap because at some point last summer one fell off (my fault). Didn't notice until I saw water in the headlight. Also ordered a second set of covers to be able to run/test different hid's without drilling wholes in the one's I had. All you need is your order number.

AlfaOBD should solve any problems you have with lighting.

That’s really odd. Good luck with your lighting, I know 2015’s are a nightmare.

Figure this was a good place to ask. Bought my Bighorn a couple weekends ago. Got some front tints, put on Tyger step bars and a roll up tonneau cover. Looks good.

Added Alpharex Pros with swapped out LEDs this afternoon. Install went OK, though was misled by American Truck's how to video. (She leaves out a number of steps.) Lights seem to function as intended but...

I can find nothing on wiring this grey DRL wire for 2020s. The Alpharex site says F66 for 2019s which I've seen referenced here, but that does not exist on my truck (stops at F64). I've seen people say, "just jam the thing down a hole and plug it up with a fuse". Not sure I want to do that. Bought a micro fuse tap... doesn't fit any of the holes in the box.

Any help?
