That's what I was told with having the cover over it it doesn't have a chance to air out or dry.

yeah, no cats have gotten in there...I think it boils down too being that I put it back in the truck while it was still damp and it got all musty and stuff being in the topper. the cat pee smell is the closest thing I can compare it too...have smelled that smell before on things that were wet and have gone funky.

I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed that my rollbak G2 retractable bed cover is as good at capturing and redirecting water runoff/rain water as the marketing materials claim.

It's pretty inconvenient if I have to keep it open to dry out my bedrug after each time it rains...I'm tempted to take it to the car wash and test it because if I have to choose 1 or the other, that cover (despite being really neat) is gone.

Based on my previous experience, I'd rather have no bed cover than lose the bedrug.

If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and just buy a new one...
