So my 2014 5.7 started having the tach bounce as if keeping rhythm or something. Not a huge bounce, but enough that I’d notice the feel. Checked fault codes and came back with a temp sensor error. Easy change. But it didn’t fix anything. As it started to become more regular, it started to seem like it wasn’t shifting very smooth. Then the electronic throttle body light came on. So I went and cleaned it and the light stopped coming on. But the other things kept slowly getting worse. Finally I figured I’d spend the $200 and replace the throttle body. Replaced it, did the idle reset process of disconnecting the battery and after the wait, cycling from off to run, without starting the engine 7-10 times. Then started it and it started and sounded better. This morning I headed out to elk camp, it seemed to be doing better. But after the highway part of the drive, it was really running rough. It’s like it is running too rich. It isn’t stalling, it does respond when needing to accelerate, but just doesn’t sound or feel right. Any ideas?

You might try pouring a couple bottles of "HEET" into the tank. At least eliminate water in your fuel. Also, take your truck to an O'Reily's or Autozone and ask them to test your battery. Ram's do weird things when the battery is weak.

Just throwing out a couple cheap/easy tests to help steer your troubleshooting. Good luck and let us know what you find.
