Keep an eye on your intake tube, they're famous for being rock catchers and dusting the engine.just bought/installed a new k&n nextgen on my 2023 longhorn (5.7 w/ torque). just wondering if any of you have feedback on a similar application.
You basically wasted your money if you're looking for any kind of gains. You swapped out a true factory CAI for an aftermarket "CAI". I put that in quotes because it's pulling hot air from inside the engine bay. A true CAI pulls cooler air in from outside the engine bay.just bought/installed a new k&n nextgen on my 2023 longhorn (5.7 w/ torque). just wondering if any of you have feedback on a similar application.
Yes, it's an oiled filter. Waste of money. Is it oiled ?
One of the things ram really did right was OEM air intake. I cant get my filter to get dirty even living on a gravel road. You basically wasted your money if you're looking for any kind of gains. NextGen Cold Air Intake - RAM 1500 V8-5.7L

That was one of my first mods, I didn’t research how good our stock box is, fell for the hype.just bought/installed a new k&n nextgen on my 2023 longhorn (5.7 w/ torque). just wondering if any of you have feedback on a similar application.
I'm a sucker for a good looking engine bay, so I bought the Ram Air intake for my previous 5th gen. It's an OTR style intake. I wanted to free up engine bay space for an upgraded inverter. And I also loved how it looked. So I'm not totally against an aftermarket intake. As long as you know going in that there will be no performance gains. Here's a couple pics of the intake right after I installed it...That was one of my first mods, I didn’t research how good our stock box is, fell for the hype.
I do like the look & ended getting a s/b filter which is more like the oem.
I try to keep my engine bay cleanish, but that is next level!I'm a sucker for a good looking engine bay, so I bought the Ram Air intake for my previous 5th gen. It's an OTR style intake. That is the same system I have on my ‘24 Rebel GT. I believe it came on all GT models.I'm a sucker for a good looking engine bay, so I bought the Ram Air intake for my previous 5th gen. Unless said CAI is deterent to engine longevity, then it's not a wise decision,or money well spent. That is the same system I have on my ‘24 Rebel GT. I believe it came on all GT models.
Works well and my filter is still almost as clean as the day I took delivery.
PS. OP, If you are happy with your CAI then it’s not a waste of money. No more than a modified exhaust just for the sound. Or lifting a 2WD just to drive on the HWY.
If the owner is happy with their ride, it is money well spent.
Ok, I agree with that. But the OP said K&N. They are known to be well made and quality.Unless said CAI is deterent to engine longevity, then it's not a wise decision,or money well spent.
Not on the Ram in particular.... the oiled filters have been known to cause issues with sensors and they don't filter out quite as well as the OEM.Ok, I agree with that. But the OP said K&N. They are known to be well made and quality.
I hope you're making a joke,as K&N filters are one of the worst filters you can run, especially their oiled filters. Well Made and Quality don't go hand in hand with K&NOk, I agree with that. But the OP said K&N. They are known to be well made and quality.
