One of the advantages of living in the south. We don’t have the salted roads that come with the ice and snow thankfully. But my driveshaft has looked rusted everywhere since I bought the truck. Always wanted to clean it off and spray it down with something. Even if it’s just for piece of mind.
LOL I was thinking the same thing about my drive shaft ! I hate the rusty look/ May clean it up in the spring and hit it with rustoleum

@NovaScotia Ram bud ... we're surrounded by the Atlantic. Krown or Rust Check the **** out of her and deal with the dirty knuckles.

I had mine Krown'd from day one and the driver's side fender and the aluminum hood still corroded.

You're not wrong man. I was lucky with my last truck, no rust anywhere on the body. Going to try and take even better care of this one.

What is bothering me is the exhaust on my truck. I think when I do my after salty winter cleaning I’ll replace the exhaust. This picture is from yesterday we have snow on the ground

A buddy of mine has a side business of spraying ProFleet film. Its done every fall. Pulls out the tail lights, gets in every crack and crevis. Drills small holes along the door jamb to get into all the areas that are not accessible otherwise. So, is it clean underneath? NOPE. The heavy "Slime" that goes on the underside and the thin oil everywhere else collects dust from driving down the gravel roads. Actually helps keep the oil in place and keeps away the rust. But it is a truck that is meant to work, but it does get washed about 6 times of times a year.

I fluid film parts of the truck like fasteners and such ( I don’t do the whole truck) during the winter I use my small pressure washer and a water broom by ryobi, it’s an undercarriage cleaner that I use during the winter to help get the salt and crap off. I painted my driveshaft and and of the rust on the welds on the frame as well as the rear end when it was new with rustoleum rust converter spray. That’s basically all I do and it looks good 3 years later.

I just pressure wash mine after trips down gravel logging roads.
Once every year, in the spring I get underneath and hit any rust with satin black Tremclad.
Truck is 10 years old now and still looks close to new.
