Cleaner for Spray-In Bedliner - UPDATED

When I picked up my truck, I had the dealership install my Bakflip G2 tonneau cover. I am not sure what the hell the installers had on their boots when they did the install but my spray-in bedliner is now a mess.

I hit this with Armor All Car Wash and a soft-bristle tire brush and it did absolutely nothing. It looked fine when wet but once dry, this is what I am left with.

Any suggestions? Dawn dish soap maybe? Spray Nine all purpose cleaner? I do not want to damage the liner as I've only had the truck for 2 weeks.

Simple Green might work.

Last month I bought a left over 2016 and N. Florida had lots of wild fires this year and my bed had similar marks from all the ash in the air.

Did not even try to clean it, just ordered a bed mat: link

Made it so much easier on my knees when I was installing my tonneau cover. Also with the mat installed boxes stay put instead of sliding around.

Highly recommend the Westin.

I have a spray-in bedliner, and like you I opted for a mat. Love it. I went with the DeeZee one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004A0ZLSC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ...am extremely happy with it. It's heavy, nothing slips, and covers the "stains" I have.

So I had a similar issue after I hauled some red mulch home for my flower beds. Found that scrubbing it with vinegar got it to come right off. Good luck

I too was gonna reccomend the mat. Seems like any abrasive cleaners might leave it worse than it was.

If it looks that when it's only 2 weeks old you should be taking it back to the installer for them to assess what is wrong with it.

This EHow article mentions using a lime/calcium remover on it (like the foaming shower cleaners for hard water stains) so that might be an option if you have no luck with the installer.

How to Clean a Line-X Bed Liner | eHow

The same article suggests taking it back to the installer first before trying to clean it yourself in case you void the warranty.

Thanks for all of your responses. I am still assessing what I am going to do. The dealer is an hour away and I'm not sure I want to make the drive out there and put the truck back in their clearly incompetent hands.

I'll let you know what becomes of this mess.

Sorry for the delay in updating.

I got my liner completely clean and it looks great. Here's what worked.

I sprayed the liner with Spray Nine (biodegradable), let it soak briefly, scrubbed with a soft-bristled tire brush, rinsed it clean with my pressure washer and let it air dry.

Great it worked out for you. Have to remember "Spray Nine" for the future.

Huh, so soap and water worked? Wow. What are the chances of that!?
