having a problem with my 2016 RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi
Code reads P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire, changed spark plugs, swapped coils but the code is still there
Truck has a rough idle, also hard on fuel
Check engine light was on, but is off now but fill reading the code
I’ve had previous problems with it going into Limp mode, took it to a dodge dealer ship, ended up being low on oil i guess but ever since then, when the truck is getting low on oil or gets to half a tank or less of fuel, it will go into limp mode

My misfire code resulted in a new engine due to some bearing failing and throwing metal throughout the engine. Statistically, your issue is much more likely to be something on @rzr6-4 list but those flashing CELs can be bad.

First thing, do a compression test.

I don't know what to say about those conditions and going into limp mode, usually not related to cam/lifters. If you end up needing a cam, those conditions could still be present. I'd take it to someone who could convince me the were hemi mechanic number one in your area.

Probably should have added that my flashing CELs only came up under moderate/hard acceleration. I also got some really bad shuddering at times but never limp mode. Fingers crossed you don't have what I had.

SIMILAR ISSUE BUT GETTING P0302 CODE. DID PLUGS AND COILS NOT GETTING P0302 ANYMORE, BUT NOW GETTING P0300 CODE? I AM BY NO MEANS A MECHANIC. I CAN DO BASIC MAINTENANCE. IF I WERE TO NEED VALVE TRAIN WORK OR GASKET WORK IM SCREWED. ANY TIPS OR TRICKS TO TROUBLESHOOT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
