I have a 2016 Ram 3500 6.7 and I had the cel come on about 2 weeks ago. Ran the diagnostics and it showed a P2580 code - bad turbo speed sensor. I cleared the code and replaced it with a Holset part number 5550060 which is the same as the part number for Cummins. I tested it with my ohm meter before I installed it and read about 890 ohms. 600 to 1600 is supposed to be good. I took the truck out for a ride and after about 2 miles the cel came on again. I ran diagnostics again and it showed code P2580. I test the new sensor again and it now shows bad.
Question - I checked the harnesses around that side of the engine, and they all look fine. I don't know if a short in the harness somewhere could cause the sensor to fail. Should I be looking for anything else or should I just chalk it up as an out of box failure. I got the sensor from a local truck shop. These things aren't cheap and I cannot return it.
