Cruise issues

Hello all, anyone here know of any common issues with the cruise control on the third gen trucks?
I used it once when I first bought the truck and it worked fine. After returning home and going out on the highway again I tried to use it and it didn't work at all. Any insight on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

The cruise light in the dash does come on when turned on and the fuse is good.

For what it's worth. I have a 2006 Ram diesel. I had the same issue. Turns out the vac hose for the cruise control ran under my battery tray (I think driver side). anyway, the hose had deteriorated and was leaking. I suspect from contact with battery acid. Replaced hose, problem solved. Hope its that simple for you.
