As many of you may already know. Since 2013 removing the oil filter on the cummins can make quite the mess. At first when we ran into these at my dealer it was kind of a nightmare. You could get around it by using a glove stretched over it or rags or something. Eventually people came out with the plugs to screw in the top, they work great. Some of our tool guys wanted anywhere from 15-30 bucks just for the plug. Being into 3D printing I told my lube techs save their money. So I ended up drawing up a design and printing them for my lube techs. Work great, and saved them some money. Just wanted to share with you guys.

Do you or would you share the .stl file for the cap?
Thanks in advance. I understand if you do not want to share it.

Thanks, I had one but seem to have misplaced it. I have a 3d printer was thinking I would like to try printing one. I may have to order a new one.

Hello I haven’t seen any updates on this issue so I wanted to ask, is this stl. File available and will/does it work for 2022 6.7 Cummings. All others I’ve seen online don’t support over year 2018

Just unscrew the oil filter into a gallon size baggie. Yes it's that easy.

Had a 2016 ram 3500 with 6.7 diesel and used the bag method , works but not perfect . I bought the filter plug off Amazon for $15 and got a large filter pliers , 12 or 14 inches long . The pliers are almost handle to handle when gripping the filter allowing about 1/8 of turn . A couple twists spin the filter off by hand and set on cross member that's there . Screw the plug in and pull it out . Install just the opposite. I got so good at it that most times never got my hands dirty . It's a tricky beast but after a couple times no issue.
The only issue I had was the first couple of Mopar filters the threads had burrs on them making cross threading a problem and a big mess . Got a machinist friend to make me a 1 " -16 x 3" long threaded rod to run in and out to make sure threads were good .

Sorry to hijack, but this seems to hold alot of promise. After doing my first oil myself, instead of dealership(warranty off), I went looking for something like this. Nice anodized aluminum

I tried filter caps from to bottom of the filter , very awkward. They would either jams or fall off . This is what I bought and works great and also great for the rear fuel filter . Wow have they gone up I paid about half of that price.
