True, they did that to me too. You just gotta talk to the sales guy and have him actually look at the part before they send it.

Yea, it's amazing how confused they get on the 13 up Rams. I went through the same problem when I bought my premium cluster. I learned to just have them e mail me a picture before I buy it.

This is right - I ordered one of each. They had the correct part numbers on the tags, but we're both identical dual zones!

I did and still got hosed.

I originally ordered off the website for a stock number that showed the actual picture of the item with the stock number assigned to it for a single zone. 10 days go by and nothing shows and not even a shipping notification. Called them and talked to a sales rep and explained exactly the part number I needed and to double make sure they put eyes on it verify the correct P/N on the item and not the hang tag. Since they dropped the ball on the initial order, they over night shipped me a box that had a dual zone control. :Grenade:

That tells me they really do not care and would rather play this constant game of garbage in, garbage out.

I may do the same. For the time being, I am just gonna live with the dual zone controller. I value my time and do not want to deal with idiots playing their game of not giving a **** when you lay it out so plainly, you are short of buying a plane ticket to them and pointing exactly at the part and part number.

Man you have had some bad luck! I hope that when you get it all done you like it as much as I do to make it worth your while. I enjoy driving my truck a lot more since the upgrade to the RA4. Lots of cool stuff to play with!

Also just a little bit of a neat tid bit, we are currently patent pending on a current design of the 8.4 Swap Harness :favorites13:

How in the heck can you patent a conversion harness? Especially one you did not design or invent? This harness as I remember was the brainchild of getupkid, he myself an a few others designed and developed it!

I also thought you posted you were outsourcing these and having the machine made?

anyone can apply for a patent on just about anything as long as there is something truly unique in the design. The disadvanteges are: it is very expensive and every aspect of the design has to be divulged and published. Anyone can copy the design from the information then you have to persue legal action. I have 3 patents through work and in the process of getting a 4th. It is a tedious process.

That's not exactly what I meant, what I meant was how do you patent and take credit for someone else's idea and design?
So what you are saying if Some one else does all the work, comes up with an idea and gets it to work, someone else can come along and take all the credit for it? It just seems wrong on so many levels!

That happens all the time, my question would have been why file a patent on something you just announced you weren't going to make anymore, at least not consistently.

There is right, wrong and what is legal. Not knowing what he is actually patenting here, it is speculative. Could just be a utility patent on how something is made and not a design patent.

Also, just because someone applies for a patent, does not mean they get one. Also, the patent office does not deal with who did what first but who filed first for the patent and award from there. It is a civil court function to determine if a patent after the fact may be reassigned to another party.

FYI, the comment about the patent is NOT the conversion harness we currently sell and or the brainchild of the forum. Something completely different.

The 5.0 to 8.4 conversion harness design was made public by getupkid a long time ago. if CuylerTech tried to patent the design he would not get it in pretty much any country other than the USA. The USA has a 12 month grace period in that once a design is public, anyone can apply for the patent within 12 months as their design. The first one to apply is most likely the one who will get it but the patent office will review every patent application and thus why it could take years to even get it. Most other countries do not have that 12 month grace period. So even if CuylerTech got a patent and was able to sue and block others in the USA from making them, someone in another country could make them and there would be nothing he could do about it.

He said he was not trying to patent that harness in the last post, so take his word and move on... and if he does.. He cant stop you from making your own.. or calling your buddy in china LOL!

Follow up on RA4na

Got this response from Navrepair this morning:

"It's looking like a hardware issue.

Inside certain radios is a 16gb sd card that is notorious for going bad.

We're sending it to our contact who is the lead repair tech for these radios at Chrysler. He'll give us a definitive answer sometime next week."

Not too encouraging....hope they can determine if the firmware update is doing this. darn....darn!

It sounds like it "should" be a very cheap easy fix, just replace the 16 Gig SD card, what can they cost 5 or 10 bucks. Likely it needs to be flashed.
What I find odd in that response is if this is a common issue the replacement cards and the appropriate software should be readily easy to obtain especially for them.

Would have to go inside the radio. Don't know how easy that is. Weird part is that I have two radios with the same problem. I'm beginning to wonder if the severity of the crash that totals these vehicles plays a role. Doesn't take much to dislodge or otherwise damage a SD card.

Harness-Connection UPDATE:

Got time off from work coupled with Monday off, and a friend who is going to help, so I will have 15 Harnesses for pre-order within the next couple hours. I have had lots of PM's and emails asking for harnesses, so I anticipate these will sell out relatively fast. First come first serve.
PREORDER IS OPEN

We still have the $15 off promotion going for a combo of 911 Fix + Harness.

HARNESSES WILL SHIP BETWEEN 10/9-10/13

Also, BACKUP CAM HARNESSES WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING COLUMBUS DAY
