Well, I feel so incredibly stupid. I had a few day delay in cleaning of my heads, and I got sidetracked and left them submerged in the rinse water for a couple days.
At first I thought it started to rust the valve guides and seats, but that was leftover oil residue and some hard water residues and such. I was able to clean it up and oil the valve guides and seats.
So, I started in cleaning the untouched head.
Used up the last of the brakleen I had, and then it occured to me, "Dumba$$, why don't you use some gasoline to clean up the heads?" The gas worked about as well as the brakleen did, except I will still use some brakleen to rinse things off before the head reassembly.
See what I mean about Ed luck? I take the long way around the lake. I get there eventually....lol.
So, not much going on except cleaning, gonna get a few extra gallons of gas so i can give the heads a good last soak. I will have to dispose of the dirty gas with the county, but I have a bunch of used coolant and other stuff I can take there with.
Sorry for the very slow progress, stay tuned.
