Last night for the very first time in my life, I left the key in position one in the ignition over night. Obviously truck doesn't start now. Dash lights come on, tried it only twice. Are there any 12v DC power sources laying in the home that i could use to trickle charge it? Cheers.
It's the original battery 2015 .

Bummer, not much makes me as crazy as being surrounded by a perfectly good power grid and yet I can't start my truck. Bat-sheet crazy.
I have not found a source from the possibilities normally found in my house. I've cut the plug of several 12vdc wall transformers and never really had much success. My patience level could definitely improve but 4 to 5 hours and that's about as long as I could still the wiggle. Battery probably recovered as much on its own as my 1A trickler did but maybe if you have a longer time frame.
The power transformer / converter for internet hardware is often 12v, things like router, modem, Ethernet switch/hub etc. That'll go 120vac to 12vdc. Make sure all your connections are landed extremely well, actually as well as can be, considering the task at hand.
Some of those power sources are really small. The bigger the wall plug unit the higher the power capacity usually. I would think 1A or better to be useful, maybe 750mA. Anything smaller and you might just as well find a neighbor who will give you a jump.
The speaker systems for PC's are often 12vdc also. They might provide a little more power.
If you use more than one transformer in parallel that's getting rather dicey, no matter what you try, keep a super close eye on the transformer (s) for high current failure. If you can smell it, unplug it immediately! A little warmth is ok but hot is not.
Good luck, it'll be interesting to see what kind of sources the forum offers up.

SxS, riding lawn mower, moped scooter would be options that could even jump start after a short time of charging that ol dead cell from 2015.
Not sure where you're located but don't let it freeze tonight either.
I checked s couple of laptop power supplies and they were as much a 5A to 8A at 19vdc. If I were stuck and had one of them I would try it, make sure you're truck is completely unhooked electrically from your battery if you try a 19vdc source.
This kinda ***** fun but if you let your electrical specs wander be prepared to replace some of the parts and pieces. I find the lightweight crap manufactured overseas usually burns up much sooner, if something is going to burnup.
Note I said if I were 'stuck', majority of what I'm spit'n here is not recommended in a less then urgent situation.

Thanks. What I don't understand is , doesn't the truck make s continuous bong noise when you leave the key in the ignition when opening door? I swear there's some poltergeist activity going on here.

I found this gizmo just a few moments ago. IMG_20191104_110140.jpgIMG_20191104_110147.jpg

That "gizmo" is an AC/DC converter. Essentially what you would find if you remove the outer case of a battery charger.

As stated, remove battery from your truck, hook this up with the shortest, fattest wires you have and turn it on. The first 5 seconds will tell if you'll have a problem.

Chances are you'll be fine. Just watch wires don't get too hot, smoke etc.

I didn't risk it.

I ended up buying a 2amp 12v trickle charger. Hope it works. Perhaps I should have disconnected the battery negative post. Oh well...

Do a Yes Yes and replace the battery, you got a trickle charger if the battery voltage is low it wont charge it, you need to put a 6-12 amp battery charger on it and watch the amp gauge if it goes down to 0 amps you should be good

If the trickle gives you problems hook up the 30 amp you thought of earlier. 10 mins of that should get the voltage high enough for the trickle. Keep in mind the power supply is just that so it likely won't have anything to prevent overcharging hence the 10 minutes.

Limey me boy,
You're violating some important rules here.
Seriously, not busting your nuts here but you need to re-read WY.Ram's post (post #3).
Wrong thing #1...You didn't disconnect the NEG post cable to isolate the battery. By leaving it connected, you are exposing ALL of your trucks electronics to possible damage.
Wrong thing #2...You didn't buy a battery charger, you bought a battery "maintainer". You do not want to maintain your batteries status...it is stone dead. You need to charge it. Go buy the big boy charger for next time, they're cheap. Something that has both 10A and 2A settings in Sears for like $30.
Actually, you already have what you need, that big ass transformer. It doesn't have the safety that would switch from "charge" to "trickle charge" so you can't turn it on and go to bed.

Hope you had some luck. Getting ragged on here is no fun. We've all done stuff wrong LOL.

I think my only semi violation was not removing battery negative prior to connecting the maintainer charger on. In anycase , less than 24 hours later the maintainer charger indicated via blinking Led that it was in maintenance mode hence battery got charged. All good now.

In future I'd recommend obtaining a battery jumper. They charge constantly, and then you can self-jump your vehicle. The one I have has a spot light, a USB connection and an air compressor for dealing with those annoying TPMS sensors.

I've never disconnected the negative cable with a battery maintainer or charger. Do it quite frequently with our ambulances. Never a problem with vehicle electronics after that. If you were to use that 19v device I would definitely disconnect from truck, but I wouldn't worry about the devices meant for 12v automotive purposes.

Should have called Geico for a jump start [emoji1787] never used any roadside recovery touch wood yet.

Not saying it can't be done, but it is the 1st step in any car, truck, motorcycle shop manual I've ever seen for a reason.

Just replaced the battery today. After it charged successfully the first time around , I came back home and did another boo boo, turned the truck off and and on three times and the next day the battery wouldn't go beyond 10.85V . It were almost 5 years old. Shame.

That battery wasn't long for this world, turning the truck On/Off a couple of times shouldn't be a problem for any battery. Better it happened at home then it leave you stranded somewhere.

You are one LUCKY Limeybastard!!!
Trust me on this one, it makes a change being lucky. Slightly off topic, when I went to check the battery charger I left my cellphone with its case off , came back and it was face down on my tiled floor. Luckily nothing happened. Weird how it managed to decide to fall of the side table like that by its own.
