Driveline help

Hi

I just bought a 2012 ram1500 and the previous owner told me that it needs a new driveline, it’s fine to drive in 2WD but if I ever need 4X4 then this “driveline” would need to be replaced. I’m just trying to search around and find out which part it is that needs to be replaced. He said it’s a short shaft on the passenger side. Would

I don't know,as you haven't got much information to go on,try and get some close up pics of the pass side front diff,it wouldn't hurt to remove that CV and look everything over close and get some pics.The truck will run perfectly fine with-out the CV as long as you don't try and throw it into 4X4 mode.If you do need the stub shaft,you'll also need a new CV axle to go along with it,don't try and reuse the old CV on a new shaft
