He has the air suspension, and at that time it was in its lowest setting.

Glad to see you are in the truck and The Journey has begun!

Hey, what is that in the right bottom corner of your EVIC display under the Avg Mpg?

Mine does not read that way, nor does it have the Off Road reading. Is that "OFF ROAD 2" a permanent Odometer for how long it has been in 4wd like the Tow counter ?

That is the air ride display.

Hey, we need some scenic pictures of this journey, preferably with your truck in them. :)

Hope the journey is going smoothly thus far.

Morning guys. Scenery is coming. And Brakelate, I customised my cluster and as Toofart/NewBlackDak mentioned it's because I have the optional air suspension and it tells you in the EVIC system what mode your in, offroad 1 or 2, normal (nothing displayed) Aero mode, and entry / exit. Right above it is my average mpg. It almost looks like they are together I agree.

I'm still getting use to all the features but so far the only thing I dislike is how hard it is to see beind you when you backup. My old extended cab had a huge rear windshield and I could see for days. I'm very happy it has a backup camera... Hard to force myself to use it but I'm working on it.

Does anyone know if the side mirrors dim if so how? Not the rear view mirror, but the side. I swore some were I read they did and last night some guy was driving with his brights behind me for quite a way. Rather annoying

The air suspension sounds sweet! I agree that the backup camera can be a big help... now that I have one it would be hard to go without it.

The side mirrors on my '12 are auto dimming. If there is a button that activates them I don't know where it is.

Well, I'm very disappointed. The route through Yellowstone National Park that I plan on taking is close. And the only alternative route that I thought I would be able to take is also close. So regrettably a little backtracking and I have to go round yay for hiccups.

I also didn't get to see any awesome scenery when I was on my way to the toll booth so I took a snap shot of this for you guys. Yay cows lol.

Hey, that looks like Ohio, lol. We have plenty of cows and corn over here. :)

Bummer on the detours though. Can't stand going out of the way to get somewhere.

I am learning that as time goes on my gas mileage is increasing as I put more miles on my truck. I was skeptical about that at first. So it's good to know. Right now I'm getting an an average 24.3mpg. I'm not sure how far off the EVIC is and fuelly. Setting up fuelly was interesting I think that's why the average mpg from them is so much lower then what I'm "getting"

Very bad timing from the Sunday/Monday storm! How dies the air ride compare to a coil truck?

It is VERY odd to look forward, at the screen in the center of the dash, or up at the rear view mirror while backing up. I always want to look over my shoulder and do it the "old fashioned" way. It is hard to trust new technology sometimes.

It gets easier in time. And hooking up a trailer or backing right up to a pole in a parking lot, or back of the garage is a piece of cake.

So far, according to Fuelly, you are getting about .4 better than I get on road trips. I imagine yours will improve quite a bit though.

Thanks for taking us along! More pics, more pics! :rockit:

There's an idea for a mod there: Video screen on back window!

Yeah, my neighbor asked me how I center my big ol' truck so preciely every time in the parallel parking spot. I got to tell him about the camera. :rockit:

That would be cool! "The Old Man Mod".

Serious, it takes some discipline to back up looking forward, staring down at the center of the dash for me.

If this "Little Diesel" is actually getting mid-20's running around at high altitude at high freeway speeds, I may just have to trade the '07 1500 in on one! Anyone know off the top of their head what that motor option costs vs. a Hemi on the window sticker?

Made it to Cody, grabbing a quick bite to eat, picking up the trailer then it's another 377 Miles to Torrington.

Mmm buffalo burger and a beer.

Funny you should say that, I just pulled over for a bite to eat and was going to get on my laptop and type up an update. But in the meantime here are some pics.
