Im so confused on why my truck exhaust isnt what i expected. I cut off factory Y .and ran two new pipes to make true duals. But 2 Borla xr1s on and it was popping.made them into turn downs and was too loud. Made my 14" magnaflow as turndowns and it was too quiet. So put FM 50HD that flowmaster said was designed for my truck and make turndowns and it was quiet also. So put super 40 on it and its just a tad bit louder then the 50HD. If you put factory radio on 11 it equals out with exhaust. Can someone plz help me out on why its quiet. Spent over $900 on all the exhaust and still isnt right. And all FM are dual in/out and dumped. Thanks

Most exhaust systems that are designed for the Hemi are on the quieter side so that they don't drone when the MDS kicks in. I'm not a fan of loud exhausts on big slow trucks, which is why I've stuck with Borla ProXS - so I can't tell you much about louder exhausts. If a super 40 isn't loud enough, then you must want REALLY loud...

A super 40 should be rattling your ears. But turn downs will make the truck appear quieter from the outside and alittle louder on the inside.

I love my flowmaster 40
Plenty loud enough can I know it's there even with radio turned up. It's not over barring but I can feel/hear it.

Why would you run turn downs? Not the right step if your looking for sound. Sound will vary depending on surface and surroundings.
The sound of your exhaust in your cab is not a good way to judge sound quality either.

I think this might be the biggest problems. Cabs are designed to keep noise out. So not having drone/noise inside is actually a good thing (to most people).

You will notice in the video clip, the camera is at the rear of the truck by where the exhaust is coming out and for the most part unshielded. That could be why it sounds "louder".

Single in dual out. It came on the truck when I bought. I didn't know until the truck was shipped to my house.lol

I had plans to get a magnaflow after watching youtube for hours, but I'm more than happy with this. Never going to change it. My wife likes it and my 16 month old falls a sleep to it. APPROVED :):):)

My friend has true dual magnaflows on his RAM and is quiet too until you go WOT..
He actually wants to take it all off and get a flowmaster after hearing mine. Said it's not loud enough. lol

I just put in the magnaflow 14" much better than the muffler delete. Got my low end power back. Going to jump on the hwy and really see how see feels.

Just wondering whats the better sound. I had true duals with two borla xr1s with resonator delete and it pops during hard acceleration.took it off and change my muffler to flowmaster and hates the sound out the back.so i did the muffler delete with the factory single 3" pipe with Y pipe and factory tail pipe with resonators and it doesbt really pop and maybe a little drone. Just wondering with the single borla xr1 does it pop and drone? It did with true duals and two xr1s
