Howdy folks.
Question: When did you complete your first diff fluid change?
2014 PW here and just turned over 18000.

Red Line, Royal Purple, Amsoil --- all the same quality or is there preference for one?

75W90? Any mods added?

Thanks everyone.

I think the maintenance interval is every 20K miles if "severe service". Otherwise it is just a fluid level and leak check.

I plan to do mine at 20K first time and do 30K intervals after that.

I just purchased Redline 75W-140GL-5 for the rear . No additives needed for the Anti-spin / limited slip rear end per their site . For the front I purchased 75W-90 GL-5 .

As far as what type oil is preferred ?? I chose Redline just because I plan on running it everywhere , Eng. , Xsmn , differentials .
Can't go wrong with Redline , Royal Purple , Mobile or Amsoil .

Check out the Synthetic Oil thread in Engine and Performance thread in 4th Gen Topic ! Lots of good info there ...

I just ordered a gallon of Red Line 75w140 as well. Truck just turned 20k and I've done a couple thousand miles towing about 3k and another couple thousand with about 1k in the bed, so figure it couldn't hurt to do the first fluid change and get the good stuff in there.

For the record synthetic oil comes in the diffs from the factory, so unless you are towing 30k every single day there isn't really a reason to run anything other than the mopar fluid. Now if redline or such is the same price go for it but it probably won't have any effect one way or another.

Appreciate all the advice.
Will wait to turn 20k for break in and then get on a longer routine interval.

According to the manual you never have to change it unless your towing heavy. Just check it for leaks and level... But Amsoil or red line are much better oil than what comes stock, I thunk I'm gonna run mine out to 20k or so then drop it for Amsoil or red line ( red line is suppose to be the best)

I changed all the other fluids around 16,000 using Mobil1 75W90 in the differentials and Walmart ATF+4 in the trans. The only shocker was the BW44-44 for the transfer case. It definitely isn't the same as ATF+4, and I couldn't find it anywhere but the dealer. It was $27.00 a quart! Now my differentials will be good to 100,000 unless I get into deep water. I'll probably do the transmission around 50,000.
