First milage check, impressed.

So I have just over 1,500 mi and checked my fuel MPG. Combined was 20.2 with the V6. not bad, hope it gets little better after break-in.

Did you check it yourself (comparing mileage to gallons used) or go by the in-dash monitor?

Hand calculate for sure.

When it isn’t 0’Kelvin or 4wd the 70mi round trip to work thanks to 10ft of snow, I get around 55mpg.

All nonsense aside, it does improve with some break in time. I see over 23mpg regularly.

Was just curious how accurate the MPG monitor really is. Mine indicates 18-19+combined,and that's with a decent load in the bed most of the time, and up and down gentle hills. On freeways only, it gets 24+. Overall, I'm very impressed. My old Ford 4.2 V6 got 13-14 MPG under the same combined circumstances (21 MPG freeway only), with 100 less HP!

You don't have a Pedal Commander yet, do you? LOL
Jay

Was that to me? My "pedal commander" is my foot :D

I don't mind the digital lag at all, got used to it fast. Not about to introduce even more electronics into the accelerator circuit just so I can go VROOM VROOM real fast.

No problems here. I just avoid staying near cars I see weaving (drunk or texting) driverless cars, and cars/trucks with dark tinted front windows. Best way to stay safe here!

I’ve tried to baby my truck and get in the 15’s with mixed driving. That’s a 2016 5.7 with 3.21. Not sure how it varies so much from truck to truck. I can barely get it up to around 20 on the highway and me checking the math is pretty close to the computer.

It's most likely the wind that causes the wide disparity. I see this on a regular basis driving on an East/West freeway, the instant fuel economy meter always drops when driving into the wind. On one significantly windy day, the instant meter was varying just below 20 mp @73mph, during the return trip at the same speed it stayed close to 32 mpg. EcoD w/3.92

Its that way all the time for me regardless of where I am driving. Maybe one day I will be able to tell my kids how I always had to drive my ram into the wind everywhere I went...uphill both ways.
