Hi y'all I'm a first-time truck owner and last week I bought a 2016 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab. So far I'm loving the truck but I would like to sit a little higher in it. Is it possible for me to swap out the driver's side seat for one that can lift? If so, is it also possible to still keep the chair itself and just swap out the frame and what not underneath it?

Yes, you can update to a power seat which can raise and lower. In addition, you can swap the covers (attached to cushions) so everything matches. I did the same in my Express. Then all you need is the wiring harness for the power seat.

Awesome! Could you by chance point me in a direction of where to buy the parts? Do you remember how much it cost you to upgrade yours?

As SitKnealBend stated it would be much easier to just switch the seat covers instead of trying to take the whole seat apart. A 13 to 18 Bighorn, SLT power seat has the same seat foam as the Tradesman/Express seat. There are videos on YouTube showing how to install the seat coverings and it's really pretty easy. As far as the wiring goes you will just need to run a fused positive 12v wire to the solid red wire in the driver's seat yellow connector. The solid black wire in the yellow seat connector is for the ground but the seat will usually work without adding that wire because the seat is grounded to the truck. One thing to note is the Bighorn/SLT seat will most likely have a grey connector next to the yellow connector your truck doesn't have a corresponding connector for. This is for other features you aren't using and not needed for the seat to work so you can just tuck it away.

I got my wiring harness from a forum vendor @DeereGuy but I think his partner @Mpgrimm2 might be making them all now.

A little help here: Upgrading '17 Tradesman with '19 BigHorn cloth/heated seats with driver-side power. The connectors on my '17 are the same seat connectors, but with less wires. Does this mean I will need to install a new harness? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! What is the difference between adding Power-Only and adding Power w/Heat?
