Got my gaskets and various other parts today. Installed the timing chain tensioner and new timing chain from Hughes. Front and rear crank seals installed, oil pan reinstalled.

Working on the freeze plugs. The front 2 had almost no corrosion. 1a003997668d82740b064000b5b159c3.jpgfc91df65415c45d2e577a5c6bf495505.jpg

Trans pan now has a drain plug and the upgraded governor solenoid. Added fluids to what I could. No leaks so far. Should be able to get the cab on later this week.7939074709838c6fbbfae4f3efd063b0.jpg7d07913c2fd7b6254a12fd74be4700ae.jpg77b3aea18dae09ee65f4bd89c2c850b4.jpg

Hopefully someone can help. What is this? It had the vacuum line for the climate control going to it. Is it factory or something somebody added?

What did it turn out to be?

From dodge dude94: Those are aftermarket. Supposed to help control the wild vent issue these trucks have, losing vacuum to the mode doors in the HVAC under heavy throttle.

It was a productive weekend. Got my dash cover, driver's seat cushion, and seat cover from Geno's.

The radiator was falling apart so I decided to replace it. Just need to repair the door bottoms this week.4947da4f33e52a048199d62e8dc9aa75.jpg2a869b75393eb068b6dbd991d9564a42.jpg24a0cd141c16ca64c98a8af1e9046474.jpg6b027bbf3cb45919d6a43934bd0ce4ce.jpg088b713d1f688efc4bde510f1ab3c68f.jpg88e17f60a36785f5a81e4d88547a6f63.jpgbfd108997bc592f0f280b8276bbebf69.jpg485342b1cce657ed0f8519876e65bccd.jpg

Well crap! This is all that's left in the "seats, trim, and carpet" bucket and I have no idea where they go. Especially that ground strap. 69cf23710ae67c3bd13c28784b7c966b.jpg

Extra bolts are the worst!
Yeah. I had different buckets for each section with the hope of eliminating this exact problem.

I am more concerned with where that ground strap goes.

If you have access to the service manual, I recall that the SM for my Dakota had a section that showed the location of every ground strap on the vehicle. IIRC, there were 2 or 3 in the engine compartment (block to body), one from the body to the frame and one from the exhaust to the frame.
