I'm a big fan of BG products. I use their 44k platinum fuel system cleaner right before an oil change. Add it to half a tank of gas and run it near empty. Then change the oil. Stuff is expensive but it works. My hemi has 160k and runs smooooove

89 octane and no fuel additive since my truck is still new and I only use top tier fuel. I add some Lucas into my old Tahoe every now and then, either I got a real good truck from 2001 or it works because she never had a misfire or a bad injector or anything.

The OP mentioned 2-3 MPG better without ethanol, I call BS..............
These trucks were designed to run on ethanol blended gas.

The issue is the energy density of ethanol. Ethanol has 67% of the energy by volume than gasoline. So for each gallon consumed you're seeing a loss of 33% of the 10% that is ethanol. Now that doesn't calc out to 2-3 mpg (more like 0.5 mpg). But this is no different than buying new tires; the switch is guaranteed to garner claims of amazing traction, flawless snow performance, and an absolute quiet ride. Similarly, there is perception bias found when switching to higher dollar straight gas. The 0.5 mpg gain form the gas may be amplified by a change in driving behavior due to the very fact that it's being monitored, and perhaps 'hypermiling' by the operator.

That they can run on E10 and that you'll get the same performance from E10 as with straight gas are two different things.

I’ve only ever used 2 fuel additives. Techron and 44K. The epa uses Techron to test mileages in cars made by the big 3. Or at least they use to so this says something. BG products have proven to work very well. Most are money grabbers and gum up your fuel system over time. As far as octane booster, I use to use 104 as a youngster when I was mud dragging. I don’t know if it ever helped or not. I only have a few trophy’s so who knows!!!!‍♂️

My truck runs a performance tune, 93 octane premium fuel 10% ethanol blend, and I use Lucas fuel treatment every 1-2K miles.

Anyone uses Lucas Fuel Additive? ( I see that one person admitted using it every 1-2K miles. That would be 2 or 4 per oil change, IMO)

Do you realize any difference in performance or economy?
I really want to know since I am in Belize.

I run 91 to 93 in my truck at all times, and it sucks that pretty much all of the fuel in Ontario, Canada now has ethanol.

I use one bottle Red Line SI-1 fuel system cleaner at every oil change. I purchase a case of 12 bottles at a time as it's more cost effective to do it this way, and because I can smash 35 or more thousand KM's a year on my truck.

I also Seafoam my intake system once a year before I clean my TB to clean out any accumulated gunk. But, having a great catch can in use also has it's benefits in keeping my intake plenum and TB clean ;)

When I can find zero ethanol premium fuel there is a discernable improvement in fuel economy, that's for dang sure!

If you talking about this one I have used it for many years in every one of my wife's many vehicles (and my diesels) along with the Lucas Ethanol fuel conditioner with stabilizers... As for increase in mpg my wife would report a 1-1.5 mpg increase ( 5.25 oz per 20 gallons of gas) I did so without telling her, when I used it regularly in my 2006 diesel I bought it by the gallon, I'm using the last gallon of it in my wife's 2021 Toyota highlander.

I run either pure 90 or 93 E10. I have seen fuel mileage increases while towing (only 1 mpg, consistently). It is my belief that the truck stays in 8th gear longer and gets there more often while towing with better fuels. But, that is my anecdotal experience. I set the cruise at 72 mph, no matter what fuel I use, so I personally don't prescribe to the theory that I'm hypermiling. I only tow a loaded down 7x12 enclosed trailer, loaded with motorcycles and race gear.

I use the redline fuel injector cleaner in both of our vehicles every oil change.

I don't think my truck has ever gotten past 7th while towing. And I think that is quite OK.

And that's probably why. I don't often drive that fast even when I'm not towing. Towing anything is a maximum of 65 for me, even an empty utility trailer, and even that would have to be out on the open highway like I-10 or I-40 well away from anything.

I didn't think purple gas was premium anymore,i know it used to be ,but i thought that changed in the last few years. But i could be wrong about BC,maybe purple is still premium out west. They don't check for purple gas like they used to,but i still wouldn't want to be caught running it,if you don't have farm plates. In the 70's farm purple was higher octane then pump premium in Sask, and i ran it in my old 68Z,as the farm tanks were full of purple. They used to sit at the bottom of our road and check for purple back in those days, used to p!$$ my Dad off to no end,as Moms car was always full of purple, lol

Yes, here in the states the only thing I know of that is dyed is farm diesel - it's red. And don't get caught using it in anything other than tractors and heavy equipment.
