I've been researching new LEDs for my '18 3500 (Laramie w/projector) replacement bulbs. I've spent a good deal of time on the HR website watching videos and comparing LEDs. Since HR does a ton of research tend to believe them .. Without question they recommend Supernova V.4 (Perfect fit) for the highbeam. Their price is $188 for a pair. If I go direct to the Supernova website it looks like can get the same bulbs for $99 a pair... soooo whats the deal?

Has anyone dealt with HR and are they just adding mark-up?

I’ve bought 3rd brake light and reverse led bulbs from HR. They are great quality and extremely bright. No bulb error messages. A little pricy but great quality

HR is a huge markup but for good reason. As you can see they do a lot of how-to's and charge what they think is market value.

I haven't used their products but from the videos I think they do a great job of comparing and contrasting options to choose from.

I ran the v3's in my quad headlights and was very pleased. I'm currently running these

KATANA H7 LED Headlight Bulbs -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J5CWZDL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

In a set of projectors and am very pleased with them. They are the brightest led's I've run (I've tried a lot) and I'd say are brighter than a 35w hid kit.

Interesting the Supernova v.4's from the direct website only have an amber 2 in 1 option which would irritate the hell out of me. They also look a bit different than the V.4's sets I have. The V.4's from HR I run in my high beam sockets are always amber and the perfect compliment for my Nightbreaker Laser d2s setup out here on dusty back roads or in the rain.

Hr is an awesome company to deal with. I just had my second failure on the v3s sadly but they sent me a set of v4s free of charge. They also upgraded to different switchbacks then what I bought from them almost 2 years ago. So they sent me a new set of them too without me even knowing or asking about it.

Their prices are high for sure. But they have been extremely helpful in getting everything working in my truck. Swapping canbus adaptors and overnighting them twice, as well as sending me a cell phone made video showing me how to get everything to fit inside the housings.

I haven't installed the new stuff yet but will this weekend hopefully.

Just went out to the garage to snap some pics of the new stuff. It really makes their v3 setup look like junk. These decoders alone are so much nicer. The old ones were these cheap plastic pieces.

They are great people to deal with, But you do not want to use Led's in your projectors. They will not work as good as the stock bulbs. Check into their HID low beam kit from GTR lighting. These are a true plug and play install. No relay harness or resistors to mess with. The Supernovas V4 LED's work great in the fog lights and high beams, but will not be as bright as a HID low beam kit.
Here is a good example of my GTR 35 watt bulbs, and Supernova LED's with the high beams. You can see how much brighter the DID bulbs are.

In the projectors, did you need to add decoders or error cancellers?

I didn't have to because I had changed the setting with alphaobd. But I you'd probably need some canbus adapters

Thanks for the quick response

I have LED kits in my cart ready to check out, but want to make sure I have everything I need before I take stuff apart.

I wish AlphaObd worked with Apple IOS......

They will send you everything you need. No need to worry there

If you go on the Alfa thread you can probably find someone near you to help you out too. But the decoders work fine. I just pulled mine out along with all the resistors after getting Alfa.

It is somewhat widely reported that the Katana’s are essentially the Supernova V4’s, at 1/4 - 1/3 the cost.

I can neither confirm or deny this, but I have read it in several reviews. Food for thought. If someone have additional information in this regard, please share.

@Ram Night They are advertising twice the output as the stock bulbs.... you say the stock will be brighter?

At the end you see the comparison...

Guess I'm confused...

Apparently he's working on getting approved by Apple. I was in the same boat as you with only having apple products. But I ordered a $50 Amazon Kindle fire 7 tablet to use with alphaobd

I've heard that also. That's why I bought a set. If I had a set of v4's or if anyone has some and can take pic's I'd pull mine out to compare

If you can. Could you get a pic of the backside of the ballast and any distinguished markings
