Heating/cooling issue...

Ok rundown of the rig 2000 1500 with 5.2 auto

Replaced:

Thermostat 195
Radiator
Heater core
Water pump
Rad cap 16 psi
Clutch fan


Issue is that it will not get hot enough to open tstat with clutch fan.. When my clutch fan went out i threw an e fan (no clue on specs but off some 4cly most likely) and obviously could adjust when it kicked on and off.. So tstat was confirmed to open using that method. Now warmer temps are in store ive replaced the clutch fan and again wont heat enough to open stat even with minimal air flow idling in park... Any suggestions? Seems sonething is causing it to over cool..

It sounds like the fan clutch might be bad. The clutch is supposed to "disengage" or not spin as fast as it would right? So if it's not disengaging it's spinning at full speed all the time, causing it to over cool.

Fan clutch might be over cooling, t-stat might not be actually closing.

What are you using to verify temp? Is the upper hose warm after driving? How warm does it get?

As far as tstat opening i use the old tried and true.. Keep checking pressure in upper hose until it releases stat opening) fan clutch is new has some resistance when cold doesnt just free spin. And when i had the efan on only it was opening approx correct temp on gauge.. All hoses warm after driving.

Yea if i did that it would obviously open again.. The e fan i have wont move enough air to keep cool in summer at lights and so forth and local junk yard wants $100 for a cherokee e fan used... Said f that lol
