If the tune is for E85, I think he’s done some tuning for running E85. Found this info in another thread....

“@Hemi450hp is a great person to ask about this. Send him a pm and ask. He has a 10 second Ram running on E85.“

Just a standard 87 tune. With the 87 tune does that lock E85 out?

Also one of my friends told me to not do a 91 tune as it could damage my 4.7 is he full of ****?

I ran a 91 tune in my 2013 4.7,and beat the hell out of it,never seemed to fizz it,lol. I know of one guy who pumped a bunch of nitrous through a 2010 4.7,and it never seemed to hurt it.About the only thing that seems to hurt the 4.7,is lack of maintenance, they are prone to sludge build-up,but if you run a good quality synthetic oil in them, and change it fairly often you can virtually eliminate that problem .The little engines are fairly tough if you take care of them

How did the 91 perform over stock? The 87 tune is awesome so far. Based off this forum and other resources, seems like the 4.7 is nearly bullet proof!

With just bolt-ons it made 244 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno, and 250rwhp on a Dynojet Dyno. Here's a link to my old thread on it.

What year 4.7, seems like a lot of loss from 310hp to 260 rwhp after bolt on..

2013.That's about par for loss through the 6 speed with 3.55 gears and the tires it had on it. I've never seen another dyno sheet from a 08+ 4.7.You'll have throw yours on a dyno and see what it puts out.Hit up one of the local dyno shops, dyno days, usually you get a few dyno runs for around a 100 bucks.

You are quoting crank horsepower numbers. The other guy is quoting real world, wheel horsepower numbers.

Manufacturers use crank horsepower numbers to look better.

Fyi. E85 burns a lot faster than gasoline. So you need a lot more of it. Which is why you get crappy mileage.

But E85 will burn more efficiently, making a bigger bang. Getting you the extra HP.

My turbo Evo used to have a dual fuel tune.
On 93 octane It made 430 wheel horsepower on a mustang dyno. And I could get a decent 15mpg.

Now my E85 "kill tune" make right at 510 wheel HP on the same dyno. But I only squeeze about 7mpg if I keep my foot off the skinny pedal.[emoji57]

I'd call Sean and ask him if he needs to make any adjustment in your tune. He has always been really helpful when I've called him.

My local shop tried to convince my to convert my 6” lifted daily driver into e85 but at 6-7$ a gallon I couldn’t justify it.

I was in AZ. But maybe I’m thinking about something else then if that doesn’t sound right. I think it was special racing fuel.

That had to be 100 octane race fuel.

E85 is 2.80ish a gallon here.

I have an E51 tune for my truck that I can flash in at any given point with the Diablo. I normally run a custom 91 tune. I don't consider it a kill mode but it makes more power than the 91 tune.

As others have said though the ethanol burns faster and mpg takes a dump.

Have you talked to Sean about this? The guy that put my JBA headers on does dyno tuning and said you can run E85 in just about any vehicle made after 2012 because all the fuel components are ethanol friendly so it should just be tuning

Have always been told that E85 will ruin an engine that is not designed for it. The plastic and composite parts into the fuel delivery will dessolve.

That is accurate in older vehicles but not the case with 4th gen rams.
