So I install the 2018 camera in my 2014 with a UAs and now the camera works at any speed
No longer shuts off at 12 miles an hour
Yes it’s an OEM camera and I’m currently running the 2014 BCM

What's the PN on the 14 camera vs 18 camera?

Does the camera come on automatically in reverse with both cameras on your g56 manual transmission truck?

Still don’t kick on automatically I haven’t had a chance to swap the BCM back to the 18 one
I got to go to a buddy of my houses and get me adapter back

give me a few minutes and I’ll report the Part number

Picture is explanatory enough
Gridlines on 30 miles an hour no blue screen

I honestly think when I switch the BCM it’s gonna work properly
It appears that the camera may communicate with the radio on a 2018

It will be interesting to see if it still stays on when you go to the 2018 BCM. It wild seeing that stick shifter in the pictures. I remember back in the day heavy duty truck mean't stick shift.

Been working on getting a 2018 UAx installed on my 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman. I found a UAQ 4C nav from a 2018 ram 1500 on car-parts.com. Got it in today and did a temp install ( I don't have volume controls on steering wheel)I have a RA2(Uconnect 3 w/5" screen)currently installed. When I put in the UAQ it came up fine and needed the unlock code. Got that squared away and went on to check the functionality of everything. I immediately got all the fucntions like Sirius radio preview page, nav screen that showed my current location, and plugged in my android phone and had android auto. I forgot to check the backup camera before I took it though. I went thru several other pages and it seemed to working fine. I have the HVAC module and resistor that will be here soon. I contacted Mpgrim2 a couple days ago and got put on the list for the wiring harness adapter. I am getting the adapter harness with the ATC, so I will post back here when I get it and let you all know how it works out.

Has anyone attempt to install the new 12.1 inch Uconnect in a 4th gen ram? Any success?

Without completely butchering the center dash, I don’t see how to fabricate the 12” bezel to fit up to the 4th gen with the vent locations and everything else. I will be trying an 8.4 display screen and nav radio module out of a 5th gen, since the screen can be fitted to the 4th gen bezel, and the radio brain can be stuffed in the opening. The new radios also take a different backup camera, which is just a coax cable connection with some different settings in the BCM. The biggest gamble will be how it plays with the HVAC module. My ultimate goal is to get the fully loaded mirrors off a 2019 HD, the front camera, and the central vision process module and get the surround view working. The UAS/UAQ radios aren’t capable of displaying it, so everything hinges on whether or not the 5th gen 8.4 will work.
Well, so far everything seems to work. This is a UAV 8.4 with nav out of a 5th gen. 1e6kAQi.jpg
I’m gonna do a few drive cycles for a day or so, and make absolute certain there’s no quirks, then I’ll switch some pins around and connect to the 5th gen HVAC hard controls. If those work, then I have no reason to doubt that the 12.1” will also work, if it can somehow be fitted to the dash.

Just briefly. The display screen will have to get screwed to the bezel opening...somehow. First thing that ran across my mind was forming epoxy mounts on the back of the bezel to drill holes into to accept screws.

I have used epoxy to try to form mounting holes for screws. Problem with epoxy is that it does not have much give before it cracks. I had much better luck with urethane. More give and better resistance to cracking when the screw was driven into it. It can be a bit more fluid that epoxy but I just built dams out of play-doh to hold it while it cured.

What is the model number of the 5th gen radio you installed and got working.

Were you able to mount the radio receiver in the mounting holes the previous radio used?

it is just the screen part that may take some work to get mounted in the bezel?

The arrow is pointing to the radio module, and it is part number 68307655AI- el2qmEV.jpg It won’t mount in the original holes because it’s too wide, so I just stuffed it in there sideways for now. The display screen is part number 68356773AD. It is just a flat screen with screw hole mounting tabs, and the existing 4th gen radio bezel will definitely have to be modified a little bit to mount it. You also need the LDVS cable part number 68082364AC that connects the display screen to the radio module. Then, a conversion “Y” cable needs to be made so the 8 pin connector still plugs into the existing HVAC controls switch bank, and also plugs into the same 8 pin connector on the display screen (the pins switch locations on the connector, though). And, finally, you need the windows version of AlfaOBD to be able to enable the display screen module under cabin net. You need the windows version because you have to connect to your truck’s BCM under MY2017 Pacifica, and the Android version can’t do that.

I have confirmed that the 5th gen bezel with the HVAC controls works- AeFHSSj.jpg

That entire bezel can be fitted to the center stack with some careful dremel work, but the only thing that sucks is, the controls backlighting is white, as opposed to blue on the 4th gens.

Can you post a picture of your dremel work on the 5th gen bezel to get it to fit on the 4th gen please.

I haven’t done anything yet. I’m gonna ride around like the way it is for today to make sure there’s no weird bugs. I won’t be using the 5th gen bezel because the white backlights with the blue backlights on the lower switch bank would bug me. When I do come up with the mounting solution for the screen, I’ll definitely take pics and measurements, and post them.

Do the HVAC vents line up when you place the 5th gen bezel in Place?
