The arrow is pointing to the radio module, and it is part number 68307655AI- el2qmEV.jpg It won’t mount in the original holes because it’s too wide, so I just stuffed it in there sideways for now. The display screen is part number 68356773AD. It is just a flat screen with screw hole mounting tabs, and the existing 4th gen radio bezel will definitely have to be modified a little bit to mount it. You also need the LDVS cable part number 68082364AC that connects the display screen to the radio module. Then, a conversion “Y” cable needs to be made so the 8 pin connector still plugs into the existing HVAC controls switch bank, and also plugs into the same 8 pin connector on the display screen (the pins switch locations on the connector, though). And, finally, you need the windows version of AlfaOBD to be able to enable the display screen module under cabin net. You need the windows version because you have to connect to your truck’s BCM under MY2017 Pacifica, and the Android version can’t do that.

I have confirmed that the 5th gen bezel with the HVAC controls works- AeFHSSj.jpg

That entire bezel can be fitted to the center stack with some careful dremel work, but the only thing that sucks is, the controls backlighting is white, as opposed to blue on the 4th gens.
Not sure how feasible it is on these units, but you can get translucent plastic films that can modify the color of the LEDs.
I did this on my 06 Dakota to get red interior lights on control panels. Will have to disassemble the modules.

Do the HVAC vents line up when you place the 5th gen bezel in Place?

Just to clarify- the original actual center stack that contains the vents and the lower switch bank is staying, and remains unmolested. It’s just the bezel itself that contains the screen hole and the HVAC controls that would need to be modified, whether it be the 4th gen bezel to mount the screen to, or the 5th gen bezel to dremel to fit. The overall width and height of the bezel are the same.

I was looking at these radios as well but not many of them out there for sale. Not wish anything bad on a fellow RAM owner but I guess we need more people to wreck these trucks so the parts yards will have a larger supply.

I haven’t done anything yet. I’m gonna ride around like the way it is for today to make sure there’s no weird bugs. I won’t be using the 5th gen bezel because the white backlights with the blue backlights on the lower switch bank would bug me. When I do come up with the mounting solution for the screen, I’ll definitely take pics and measurements, and post them.

You may be able to cut off some plastic mounts from something else (another bezel?) and plastic weld them where they need to be. Basically how I attached ram letters to an aftermarket eBay front Grill. see here.

I have a few scratched 4th gen 8.4 bezel face plates if you need something to sacrifice.

I was able to do this with the Homelink buttons in the overhead...it's cheap to do but it could be very time consuming (if one did all the buttons).dec8ce18034321bbd1f3914dd5759f51.jpg

I do have an extra bezel, and I just got the chance to figure something out. I couldn’t see any way to cut and reuse any clips, so I went ahead with loctite plastic bonder to build the mounts. I removed the two screws that the arrows are pointing to, and had to cut off the clips that are circled. These are the clips that pop into the original radio metal frame slots. (This is done with the bezel mounted in the center stack)fV99GnC.jpg
Then, I built up the four corners with the plastic bond. Once it dries, I’ll clean it up with the dremel, drill the holes, and screw the screen down. rcb2oQa.jpg

Going with this radio is definitely not a practical solution for those just looking to get an 8.4 for the CarPlay and Android Auto. I got lucky on this with a junkyard that didn’t seem to know what they had, but the screen and module usually go for the same price as a UAQ. Then you have to buy the cable, and make a Y harness, and the mods to the bezel. The only reason I got this is to try to get factory surround view working.

Did you buy it from Missouri by chance?

I've found one too near southern Illinois for $450. I'm tempted to buy a 12" one. They seem to always be selling them with the bezel included at fairly low prices (relative to the UAQ). It's probably because the resellers aren't gobbling them up and jacking up the price ...cough (Infotainment) cough...

Any of you connected to these radios with AlfaOBD before? There are some interesting settings...22e3895f86df897a5323b5fbe44544c8.jpg812f1f07943b1be4ab737c63bb66f9be.jpg02139d9e864e3c06927d25af2bf7ebcb.jpg

I believe you need to set the settings in iPhone settings if you want the NAV prompts to play correctly. Something like "play as Bluetooth phonecall" or something along those lines.

I had a similar problem with my UAQ / Android Auto over the weekend. Deleted the app and reinstalled it, pulled the radio fuse by the brake booster and all fixed. Working fine now.

It may not be that. I could be misunderstanding the problem.

When I’m hooked up Bluetooth and call someone or get a call the sound doesn’t come through the truck speakers and the mic on the mirror doesn’t pickup , it’s like it’s stuck using the phone . If I do the same thing when plugged in via CarPlay it works fine .

Ah, have you already deleted the pairing from your phone and tried to re-pair with the radio?
