So it's not exclusive the the cheapo TYC then. I was wondering if mine was not well balanced if I could attempt to balance myself.

Can people post the outside temps and their truck temps to compare? I know some live where it only gets to 82* outside vs others it's 116* outside.

Also, has anyone towed yet with it?

i will let you keep you informed! here in tx it will get stupid hot!

i recently installed the mopar v6 fan, also left the clutch fan in. my clutch fan failed twice!! i didn't have a air hammer to get it off so i left it.

my temps when its 90, with a 203 t stat is about 194F while idling. i have my temps for it to come on at 208 when not moving

ill for sure keep you posted on when it starts to burn here

Ya, it gets hot here too. 116* in summer.

Have you towed with your v6 fan yet? Is it the actual Mopar one?

Did you notice any power gain by swap?

I haven't towed yet, and yes it's the mopar one. Ordered a dorman and it came broken!!

I was done with that and paid $323 from rock auto. I didn't notice any power gain. Also I still have the clutch fan too. It just free spins

You wont notice any power gain from removing the clutch fan and just using an efan in its place. Sorry but the new viscous clutch fans are much more efficient then people give them credit for. I removed the clutch fan on my 2014 and added a 180 tstat, with the tune I had no issues this last summer but also didn't notice anything different other than there is no more WOOOOSHING noise on first cold start-up lol.

Just wanted to give a quick product update. I ordered my Tyc fan from amazon and have absolutely no noticeable vibrations. You can definitely hear it come on if standing outside of the truck but that's it. Overall I am happy with the mod. Took all of 20 minutes.

Now I will say this, the autozone fan clutch tool would NOT work on my 2013. The way the pull your is shaped the teeth on the spanner are not long enough to reach. I just shoved a screw driver through a hole on the pull and with one tap of a regular claw hammer my pipe wrench when flying to the ground. I swear mine was only finger tight. Makes me love living in the south lol.

So was there ever a definite answer with leaving the factory Tstat and no tuner? I just picked up a 17 and am looking at a few small upgrades and don't feel like dropping money on a new pcm
