Not certain I follow your meaning…. imo, here in Texas “As Is” …means if it has problems and you buy it….you also own the problems.
“As Is, No Warranty” is usually ON the sticker IN the window. I recently purchased a 180K miles used-Ram from the Bastrop, Tx Ford dealer (same folks also own the Ram dealership)….and when I wrote the check and signed the paperwork…it was a Specific and Separate Document I had to sign acknowledging that there was No Warranty, and sold “As Is”.
Dealers are pretty clear about that in Texas.
<edit> There is a Texas “Deceptive Trade Practices Act” which provides some protections if major defects are deliberately withheld, and there is a Federal requirement that any warranty must be in writing (such as if any OEM warranty still applies. If so, (OEM Warranty still applicable) the Tx Lemon Law may apply. But “extended warranties” are usually “service contracts” and will not apply under Lemon Law.
