I've searched all the internet far and wide, and I'm refusing to take this issue to a dealer or repair shop. I've always been for "Don't pay for something I can learn and do myself". This issue has got me stumped...

Main Issues.... in order of appearance within 1 month
#1.... while driving and accelerating throttle stops (engine still running) and (Lighting Bolt) sign turns on and then back off like nothing has happened. This only has happened 3 times, 2 in one day within hours
.

#2.... service trailer brake displays on console, CF error on trailer brake. nothing is connected, error clears when power off and on truck

#3.... cruise control will turn on but will not set, or will set but shortly turns off and after 20-30 minutes will work normal again. issue will clear once I power off and on truck also

all fuses are good, replaced brake switch (saw in a video), no damage to anything, alignment is good, tires are stock size but different model and have had on for over a year. I tow a camper a few times a year, haven't had a chance to clean connecter to test that theory.

any info or advice please

Thanks

Half sounds like a module or canbus communication issue. Best bet is to get a bluetooth scanner for cheap and read history codes.

#1 and #3 both could to be tied to the electronic throttle or related electronics. That's about all I can offer on this....

As an easy test, I'd also check the state of the battery. These trucks do funky things when the battery is weak or a hair low. Make sure you load test it and not just put a volt meter on it.

Check the air sensor connector at the air inlet tube, make sure it's plugged all the way in and has clicked into place.

As far as "cleared" just because nothing shows and you grounded the leads to clear the memory doesn't mean a hard code isn't hard stored. Have a local independent shop do a proper scan with a SnapOn Modis. You'll have to pay for the scan but it'll be cheaper than a dealer's cost and go from there.

O k might be a long shot but I had a Kia Sedona that had similar problems as you are stating. It ended up being corrosion inside the brake light bulbs themselves which caused the brake lights to stay on and disable cruise control and also the esc. Hope this helps.

go under your truck drive side, there should be a huge connector, dc and reconnect it,
