Hello! I joined mainly because I need some niche help. I bought a 2022 ram 1500 classic last year, and then it was stolen, and stripped of parts. I don't know if the shop is bad or if things just don't match with the vin, don't care to discuss that, but I need help figuring out what certain parts are. If anyone can point me in the right direction to ask, please do :) I have one photo from the dealership, and obviously photos now. Bonus help would be to figure out what a fuse board was that was also stolen.

Otherwise, I love my truck and I would like it restored to what it was. I live in Alberta, I have a dog and a horse, and chickens. I love kayaking, and being out in nature. I have too many job titles. Always a busy person and on the go. :)
Happy to be here!

How about start with what your problems are, any codes that you know about and do you have a list of parts that were replaced....

Are you trying to fix the truck yourself, or is it a shop? If it's at a shop they should be able figure out what parts are needed since this is a fairly new truck and assuming all factory. If it is at a shop and they are asking you to figure out what parts you need.......take it to a different shop.
If you are doing the work and need help......well, we need more information, details, and pictures.

Welcome to Ram Forum, Satyrnine.

That's unfortunate to hear about your truck being stolen & stripped, hopefully, the members here can assist with whatever you have planned to get things properly restored.

As already mentioned, we need to know much more information.

Is the truck currently drivable?
Do you plan to fix it yourself or pay a private shop or dealership to complete the work?

@Wild one, or Rick, lives in Alberta. He likely has good suggestions on where to get parts and/or repairs completed.

Many of us have taken steps to reduce the likelihood of theft, ignition kill switches, aftermarket alarms, steering wheel clubs, etc.
You might want to explore those opportunities, too.

Go here and input your VIN using all caps. That will give you a copy of the build list on your truck and show how it was equipped. That should help if major components like a differential were stolen. Without know just how stripped your truck was, and who is figuring the parts list (You? Dealer? Independent shop?) it’s difficult to get into specifics on what’s needed.

That last paragraph makes me feel like I'm on a dating website. And if the truck was stolen, and recovered, shouldn't your insurance(I'm not sure about Canadian auto insurance laws) be handling this? If you are uncomfortable with the shop the truck is at to be repaired, tell your insurance. You are their customer, and should be able to voice your concern over the quality of the shop that is making repairs.

The OP's best bet is to start searching the local marketplaces, there's usually a few wrecked trucks being parted out.

Hello and welcome.

It's not clear, to me at least, if this is a currently running vehicle, although I suspect not if your missing a fuse panel.

If you know what is missing a dealer can provide you with part numbers for each item by using your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

I hope the vehicle was not damaged beyond the missing parts.

Hello from Saskatchewan,
Sorry about the truck.
But I don’t really understand what is going on.
Your insurance company should be fixing the truck or writing it off,
Seems to be what is usual for stolen vehicles.

Should not be up to you to hunt for parts, unless you bought back the salvage.
That can be a costly undertaking

Good luck

I know the parts manager at Rocky Mountain house, if you want other than Mopar parts he can help you with what might be a good replacement part. He's helped me many times with parts and sourcing parts.

I did NOT get any notifications that anyone replied here :D oops. And I didn't want to just start asking for help in an introduction area. But I can? haha. I am about to have a client arrive so I will just quickly mention it here, but I did figure out half of it. There is one part missing that I don't know what it is, so I asked the dealership for any photos of the engine, they sent one, it was a ram but in the end it wasn't mine, so that solved a LOT of problems I briefly thought I had.

The item that is missing is a complete mystery to everyone. It is not necessary for the truck to run. My truck is back together, running, I did have to bring it back because they did cut corners, but at the moment it is mostly back to how it was. Except for whatever part I can't figure out. It is not stock, but no one seems to have any idea what it was. All I can remember was that I had the recall issue of the battery dying, so the first time I opened the hood and was like OMFG that is new and shiny and I am going to break it just looking at it. And then I closed it. It was shiny and clean and put together and it scared me. But, there was an open fuse panel. This open fuse panel was triangular in shape, case made of black plastic, but the backing was stainless or something. shiny metal. And fuses everywhere. When I casually mentioned it to a friend he said probably for towing. My other friend who helps me with all my mechanical stuff never really batted an eye at it, so I just didn't pay much attention, as I needed that battery recall fixed (the issue nearly killed my dog). I noticed after getting my truck back that the engine seemed messy and sparse in comparison. Then I noticed the fuse panel gone. My friend who helps me happened to be meeting up with me that day, so he checked it out and told me my fuse box was right there. and indeed, there was the normal stock one, in its place in front of the battery. But this second one was on top of that box. And I have no idea what it was or what it was for. I assume I don't need it but I don't know. I called the original dealership but they didn't have any information. It is a repo truck - I know the guy who had it before did take some things hastily off of it, but left others (his house key was in it). Maybe he had something attached and took half of it off? so far no one seems to be able to figure out what it was.

And lastly, I know there were covers on my engine and possible rad support but they aren't there by vin. Am I making it up, or is there a rad support cover with a rams head? I swear that was in there.

Op, you mentioned this is a 2022 and it's a 1500 classic which is the 4th gen body style. A DS for discussion purposes. You do not have a DT, which is a 5th gen.

For greater understanding does your truck have a hemi which is a v8 or a penstar which is a v6 or is it a diesel?

If it's a hemi v8, the under hood looks similar to photos 1, 2, & 3. If it's a penstar v6, the under hood looks similar to photos 4, 5, & 6.

In all cases the cover for the radiator and engine if you had one are made out of black plastic

Sounds like the truck might of had extra aftermarket lights added,or maybe even a plow hung off the front end,or a big ole sound system at one point in time,if it had an extra piggyback fuse box attached to the top of the original fuse box. What part of Alberta are you in,as there's a few of us on here that call Berta home.I'm Airdrie based

True. This has been a ****show from the beginning. I basically had to be my own adjustor and I guess autobody person. I just really have **** luck. The first time it was looked at, with me, the guy said he would do a second inspection as it was winter and it was outside and not washed off, and can't do full inspection missing parts. I suspect he did not do that. He missed a lot, seemed to only do what he and I initially went over.

So, what was taken were my tires, rims, grille, hood, battery, alternator, and whatever associated parts. They also used my own jack against me and took that. They broke the rear drivers window to get in, not sure how they started it - I assume an amplifier considering nothing was damaged in the cab and the tailgate handle was broken later, so likely they didn't re make a key or anything. I did ask one of them to tell me how they did it, but they didn't tell me. They also stole all my horse stuff? Super weird. not sure why they want halters and ropes but whatever. They did a really good job, too, and knew dodge. They knew all the places to look through everything and they were very thoughtful and thorough in taking things apart. No cut wires, nothing broken. Speaking with the tow truck guy, he picks stuff up in that spot every so often and there was a well known chop shop around it, allegedly busted, but I just found out about another so I'm probably gonna go have a visit soon.

Because it was a repo that is the reason I couldn't go off vin entirely. I had only had the truck a few months and in that time pretty much only used it to haul hay as winter was approaching, so normal driving and hay. I didn't pay a lot of attention otherwise because I just had so much on my plate at the time. I was also dealing with the return of the truck I had bought previous to this one, so I was honestly just happy to not have gotten screwed over by a dealership finally. I do wish I had taken photos of whatever was under the hood. Insurance restores a vehicle to what it was, so due to me not expecting to have my truck stolen and stripped, I neglected to make an inventory. Also I didn't notice that part was added on.

When I got my truck back the first time, I saw that they only repainted the door with the broken window and did not fix any of the scratches I had pointed out, and also that he was supposed to go over. He gave me some lame excuse of saying its normal wear and tear, but, due to having just previously purchased a truck with what I THOUGHT were scratches, but turned out to be cracked paint, I was thorough in looking at the body of this truck. It had absolutely zero damage aside from the grille and hood which both had a few matching scratches. Nothing else was wrong with it. I told him that initially but I guess he either forgot or was lazy. They did not fix the scratches on the front quarters where the dudes leaned over taking things out, they didn't fix the drivers door scratches, didnt fix a massive one on the bumper, didn't tint the replaced window when the other one was tinted, didn't align the hood correctly or even close it properly as it nearly flew up as I was driving, didn't put the bezels in the hood on correctly. When I asked him why he said its normal and that I clearly don't know anything about gaps in hoods. They also didn't replace the jack. They got the parts in and took it back and fixed it. In the meantime my adjustor checked in and was pretty upset with them for failing to do their job, and it put their contract with the company in jeopardy. So. When I returned they treated me well and fixed everything, but then we couldn't figure this missing panel out. He did order a cover for the engine, but I still think there was another one in there. It isn't there by vin, but me and my friend who was with me that day both recalled seeing it. Oh well.

Long winded reply. There was a lot of screwing me around. While I give people grace and I am patient, I do not ever back down from a fight and when I am not in the wrong but also a victim I will make sure things are done correctly. The autobody guy even apologised last time saying this isn't normally what happens with an insurance claim. But, he was going on vacation the first time, and I was mad that they took so long that I had to eventually pay for my rental out of pocket, and he realised he was waiting on parts he didn't even need so I think he rushed to get it back to me.
