So it was pretty easy to transfer a Canadian Warranty ?
Being in Maine I have seen many from Canada come from Canaada ! And I am sure there are many on the lots up here as I am about 2 hrs or less from the border
Yep. I called Chrysler Cares and talked to them. There are 2 different codes, 1 is eligible for transfer and the other isn't and I don't know why or know the difference but both mine and my sons were eligible. You have to have over ~9315 miles on it (15,000km) before you can transfer it. Just call your local dealer and they go into Dealer Connect and do it there. But I would call Chrysler Cares with the VIN first and check with them to be safe. Actually the first person I spoke to there told me I couldn't transfer it but I called 3 or 4 more times and all others said I could. I also called a 3rd party warranty company and they said I could buy a warranty from them too.

The most obvious thing for you to consider is why this vehicle is being sold right after the warranty expires? red flag if you ask me. Consider looking for a vehicle with some warranty left....just in case eh.

Is a Canadian warranty different then the US as far as time/mileage? If not that truck is ~2 years out of warranty (5 years / 100K).

Just looking thru carfax, for around $50K you can find CCLB DRW diesels around 2017 or 2018 with 50K miles give or take so im afraid the one your looking at is priced too high.

$50K on an 8 year old, minimally optioned truck with over 100K???

That's no deal AFAIAC
I agree here. Sounds like someone is trying to make bank due to the chip shortage. I would pass on it.

I wouldn't go for it, too high mileage for the price. Ask your self "What did he tow with it, and how many miles are towing miles?" If you want a diesel, buy NEW! Then you have WARRANTY! 108K and no warranty? No WAY!

Owner is asking 50k....
2014 Tradesman, 105,000 miles, runs/looks perfect, back up camera, automatic, dually, ac, exhaust brake, Long bed, Crew Cab, like new, 22.5 hwy mpg, 6.7 Diesel,

My question to you folks is ...is there any issue with this truck i should be aware of or a deal breaker ?
for instance i bought a '98 diesel dually ...found out after it was mine it had a #53 mexican block with potential problems.
you see where i'm coming from don't wanna do that with a 50k purchase.

thanks for your impput.
I think you can do better down South. If you lived in CA I'd say otherwise.

Just for comparison, not saying it was a good deal, I saw a 2014 Tradesman with 155k on the lot locally and they were asking $55k. Central CA coast with a lot of cattle ranchers and short on trucks so they may have gotten $50k for it.

On the same lot was the truck in my profile with 29,000 miles for $50k and I was able to swing it for $39k. I purchased it in June. KBB was $45k. Since then I have added a lift pump, exhaust brake and upgraded steering and feel the investment worthwhile for a non- EGR 5.9 in great shape. So I have some $$ in it and would do it again with this truck.

More comparison, on the same lot used trucks have gone up about $5k across the board due to shortage.

More comparison, a nearby owner of a 2014 2500 with 140k just put $12k in repairs. $4k out of pocket for EGR valve and other work, and approximately $6k in transmission that was part of drive train extended warranty from the same dealership. My wife works there so I get these type of comparisons from time to time.

Used or new these are expensive investments with expensive upkeep. Try to get all upkeep records to see the truck's history.

Happy hunting!

Doesn’t make any sense unless it comes with a Cat D3 on a gooseneck hooked to the truck.

I've bought a 2014 Laramei Longhorn, for about that 3 yrs. ago with 66,000 miles. I'm at 130000+ with no issues. And you ain't gonna get 22.5 mpg. unless you got something special mine don't have.

I paid 50k for my 2018 Ram Laramie 4x4 2500 with 6,4 cummins with 29,000 miles last year at a dealership. Sounds a little high.

One thing that you need to look for when buying used vehicles in States along the US/Canadian Border
From reading posts on this forum, it seems Canadian dealerships are dumping USED Rams that were made for use in Canada.
I guess it really does not matter, as long as Warranties are not involved
That the EVIC reads out in Metric measurements, etc.
No warranty on a Canadian registered truck in the US.

Not necessarily true. Mine came from Canada with 8000 miles on it and I was able to get the warranty transferred. But yeah by default there is no warranty if they come from Canada

Just filled up today in eastern Ohio. 3.39 for 89 octane and 3.95 for diesel. Closer to home here in PA it's 3.55 for 89 and 4.09 for diesel.

Bottom line if you buy any used vehicle today be prepared to find nothing but high milage and prices that exceed or are close to what they were brand new. Good luck. My advise...wait if you can
