I am trying to figure out if my Uconnect 8.4AN is behaving normal with my iPod. When I start my truck, the radio will go directly to AM/FM. If I choose "Media/iPod" on the softkey, it does not sense that the iPod is connected. I have to open the console and touch the "home" button on the iPod itself. It immediately connects after that and plays fine.

I also noticed that just because the iPod is plugged in to the console, that does not mean it is charging. It's as if the Uconnect 8.4AN does not know it's there until I press the iPod's home button.

Is anyone else experiencing this? FYI, after you press it (home button) and keep the truck running, it will ALWAYS sense it's there. In my Dodge Charger, it didn't matter how often you started/stopped the vehicle, it would always sense it was connected.

My 2013 works fine....its charges all the time....and plays fine thru the 8,4 touch screen. Which USB Port do you have it plugged into?? Needs to be in the Aux USB...not the other one....I have my cell phone charger pluged in that one...cause its the only power source in the whole truck that charges when the truck is off. Only issue I have with mine is when I used the iPod...then go back to XM....it always goes to the FM radio station...it dont stay on the XM where it was when I switched...but then it is fine.

I only have one USB port, that I know of, in my truck. I talked to someone at Uconnect and they said it's a known issue with the 2014s. My USB port is in the center console. Is there another one?

Thanks for the input.
