that reminds me of an aviation tenet:
The most useless things in aviation are runway pavement behind your airplane, altitude above you, and fuel you left at the airport and didn't buy to fill up your tanks.
On the other hand, at least under the Wrangler forums, the prevailing sentiment is completely the opposite of what it is on the Ram forums. Rammers seem to say "get the LW". Jeepers tend to say, "put aside the equivalent amount of money and use it for repairs as they arise. If the repairs never arise, then you're ahead that much (and you can spend it later on when you ditch the vehicle).
Perhaps that may be because a lot of Rams are kept on the street and not much modified, while many jeeps are heavily modified (voiding the warranty) and put off-road a lot.
