So on my way to work today my 14 ram 2500 5.7 hemi began to act funny under light throttle. Now given this the motor wasnt warm by any means but on a 30 degree celcius day 30-40 seconds before moving the truck should be more than plenty. After a minute or so i noticed the truck acting very sluggish and was almost pulsing. I backed off on the throttle and it went away and When I stepped on it the CEL flashed and went away and the truck picked back up and pulled again. It did it twice and then 45 minutes of flawless highway operation. I filled it up with fresh premium and ran the truck through its entire rpm range on the highway on the way to work and it didnt act up. Im wondering if it may have just been some bad fuel or if the truck just doesnt like running in that hot of temperature when warming up?

This type of thing can be hard to diagnose. Especially if it is on a new truck and only occurred intermittently one occasion. If it were me, Id just check on the common things like the intake system/throttle body and make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Otherwise I would just keep an eye on things and continue on business as usual until/if something else occurs.

Also, all modern vehicles should be ready to run the second you turn them on regardless of the weather conditions. Its not necessarily GOOD to say, start your truck in freezing cold weather and floor it down the street, but the truck should do it with little or no hesitation unless there is something wrong. So I dont think you should write that off as a normal type of operating glitch. Bad gas could be a culprit though, but I'd be skeptical of that even.
